Maybe that's a bit strange. I mean, what teenage girl isn't interested in kissing? Locking lips definitely interested me, but the drama that came with it didn't. No kissing, no drama. Simple.
But on my sixteenth birthday, on my first real date even, the drama found me. His name was Luke Graham--cute, funny, and bad news for the whole female race.

From Goodreads:
Erotic romance writer Jenna Brooks lives an ordinary life in a quiet Oregon town, putting her sensual heart into her fiction rather than her everyday life. Deeply involved in her latest story about glamorous lovers on the run, she laughs off a carnival gypsy’s prediction that she’ll find everything she desires “between the sheets”—apparently those her DeskJet is printing. Because suddenly, Jenna finds herself drawn into her own stories, literally. When the seductive, mysterious Riley Stone rescues her from an attempted hit and run, she’s plunged into a reckless, wild relationship unlike anything she’s ever experienced—except on paper.
Meanwhile, Riley is feeling pretty upended himself. A specialist consultant with the FBI, he’s on a mission to derail a drug king-pin whose wealth and extensive real estate is managed by Jenna’s neighbor, he’d planned to ingratiate himself with Jenna just enough to gain access to her neighbor’s apartment so he can keep a close eye on his comings and goings. Instead, he finds himself not only drawn to Jenna, but falling for her, hard. On the heels of this realization comes the discovery that her new neighbor didn’t move in next door by chance: her father is the last hold-out against a drug-money fueled billion dollar development scheme and her neighbor plans to take and hold Jenna hostage until the necessary papers are signed.
As Riley struggles to keep Jenna safe, the romance they’ve woven could force them to pay the ultimate price: admitting they’ve fallen in love—for real.

Love. Lies. Acting. A novel about celebrity influence & teens in Hollywood. What makes a star shine? Humility empowers the spirit. Sometimes.
Discover the Starlet Series for new adult & college readers and uncover the life of a talented actress caught in Hollywood's web of lies.
I'm actress Liana Marie Michael. I won an Oscar at 17 but whatever. Celebrity is what it is: marketing a product. I'm part of a tight-knit group. I keep to myself and don't complain about my life. I've been happy until lately.
Evan dumping me leveled me. Matthew shocked me. I knew he couldn't hurt me with my bodyguard so near, but his eyes...so I have trust issues. Dating super-hot Byron didn't help clear the confusion either. I'm torn between going to church on Sunday and making a living from pop culture.
But experience builds perspective. My days of shutting up needed to end. First, I told Manuel. Then I told my mom. It turned out awesome until I learned the truth.
Now I'm screwed. Totally. Let's face it: Hollywood's web entangles everyone.

Week 31 Review: Summoning the Night
From Goodreads:
MAGICAL TRICKS. DEMONIC TREATS.
After narrowly escaping her fate as a sacrificial scapegoat, Arcadia Bell is back to normal. Or at least as ordinary as life can be for a renegade magician and owner of a tiki bar that caters to Earthbound demons. She's gearing up for the busiest day of the year—Halloween—when a vengeful kidnapper paralyzes the community. The influential head of the local Hellfire Club taps Cady to track down the fiendish bogeyman, and now that she’s dating red-hot Lon Butler, the Club's wayward son, she can hardly say no.
Cady and Lon untangle a gruesome thirty-year trail of clues that points to danger for the club members; children. But locating the person behind the terror will require some metaphysical help from Cady's loyal bar patrons as well as her potent new Moonchild powers—and she'd better figure it out before the final victim disappears and her own darkest secret becomes her biggest enemy.
My Review:
Loved reading this book! I savored it, because hey, there's only a novella and 2 books left in the series. So while it's not a very long series, it's one that I'm really enjoying, and I'm taking it all in and enjoying it!
This book had a bit of a similar layout, that there was a mystery for her to solve, and there was magic stuff going on. But she was also learning about her Moonchild powers, and yeah, it was just so freaking great to read!
Of course these characters were really fantastic to read about, Cady and her insecurities and growth, Lon, enough said, and Jupe, who was just hilarious, from his motormouth and blurting things out that usually don't get said, like repeating what others have said, or things that were banned but done anyways!
I enjoyed how things worked out, it wasn't the easiest, but they did make it, and there's always tomorrow to make things better then they are today! But yeah, someone who does that to kids...really great ending!
Such a great book, and again, I'll try to squeeze in the next few-and last few-books in August! I just really want to read them!

Week 31 Review: Blood of the Demon
From Goodreads:
BETWEEN HEAVEN AND HELL, MAN AND DEMON, SHE'S ABOUT TO FACE THE ONE THING SHE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO SURVIVE.
Welcome to the world of Kara Gillian, a cop with a gift. Not only does she have the power of "othersight" to see what most people can't even imagine, but she's become the exclusive summoner of a demon lord. Or maybe it's the other way around. The fact is, with two troublesome cases on her docket and a handsome FBI agent under her skin, Kara needs the help of sexy, insatiable Lord Rhyzkahl more than he needs her. Because these two victims, linked by suspicious coincidence, haven’t just been murdered. Something has eaten their souls.
It's a case with roots in the arcane, but whose evil has flowered among the rich, powerful, and corrupt in Beaulac, Louisiana. And as the killings continue, Kara soon realizes how much there's still to learn about demons, men, and things that kill in the night—and how little time she has to learn it.
My Review:
I just absolutely loved reading this book! The first was so enjoyable, and I just really enjoyed this book! It was so awesome to spend more time with these characters and in this world! It's only the second book, but a lot has happened, and yeah, so great to read!
This book was pretty dark! There was dealing with the aftereffects of the past book, with her aunt's essence somewhere not in her body. And that Kara had been thought dead for 2 months. Yeah, those were kinda big things!
And essences were a pretty big thing in this book, seeing as someone or something was eating them. Besides that it was all pretty horrible, that's going to lead to some consequences in the future from the lack, in population numbers and overall health. Which sucks.
Really enjoyed how everything came together! There was a lot to learn, and not a lot of time to learn it, and dealing with everything was not easy! But she did it, and it worked out pretty well in the end, besides a few things!
Loved reading this book, and I can't wait to read the next book, though I'll probably have to, since August is for reading ARC's! But maybe, hopefully, I can squeeze in a few regular books!

Week 31 Review: Wild Things
From Goodreads:
Since Merit was turned into a vampire, and the protector of Chicago's Cadogan House, it's been a wild ride. She and Master vampire Ethan Sullivan have helped make Cadogan's vampires the strongest in North America, and forged ties with paranormal folk of all breeds and creeds, living or dead…or both.
But now those alliances are about to be tested. A strange and twisted magic has ripped through the North American Central Pack, and Merit's closest friends are caught in the crosshairs. Gabriel Keene, the Pack Apex, looks to Merit and Ethan for help. But who—or what—could possibly be powerful enough to out-magic a shifter?
Merit is about to go toe to toe, and cold steel to cold heart, to find out.
My Review:
Another excellent book in this series! I loved reading it, seeing these characters again, and dealing with some more out of control messes, and yeah, some really interesting things happened, and I can't wait to read the next book!
So of course, the mayor is still being horrible about sup rights, and takes it the next step, and that causes a lot of problems. And involves them in their latest case of kidnapped supernaturals. And some revelations there that were really interesting!
Of course, there was a lot of snark, and some really awesome movie references, which were great! And inter-spaced with that was investigative work and romance and politics. Because she owed a favor, and she paid up, and that's going to be a big thing in the upcoming books, I can't wait to see how it's going to play out!
Enjoyed the ending so much, it wrapped up nicely a great twist and I'm not sure if that's the end of Seth Tate's story, but all in all, things are better than when they started, and the future looks pretty bright, even the challenge Ethan is going to be making!
Such a great, enjoyable book, and I can't wait to read more of this series! I've almost caught up to what's been currently published, yeah!
