Week 2 Review: Where Demons Fear to Tread

From Goodreads:
Fledging guardian angel and yoga teacher Serena St. Clair dares enter Devil's Paradise nightclub on a mission—to retrieve the wayward Hollywood "It Boy" she's assigned to protect. But she's ambushed by the club's owner, arch demon Julian Ascher. The most powerful demonic entity in Los Angeles, Julian is handsome as sin, a master of temptation who loves nothing more than corrupting pleasure–seeking humans. He won't release the lost soul Serena is supposed to guard. Unless she accepts his dangerous wager…
After the disastrous way his human life ended, Julian vowed that no woman would get the better of him again. Yet this sexy–sweet angel, smelling of fresh ocean air and happiness, triggers centuries–old feelings. Now, their high–stakes game of seduction, where angels fall from grace and where demons fear to tread, will lead them either to an eternity in hell,or a deliciously hot heaven...
My Review:
OK, quick note, I've started the review of this about 3 times now, and a bit annoyed, because my internet browser has closed and didn't save it, so yeah, a bit ticked at it for not being able to save when the post has already been published. Yep. Anyways.

I really enjoyed reading this book! It was about Angels and Demons, good and bad, yin and yang, Heaven and Hell. And the temptation of angels, and how Julian intially went about  his "conquest" of Serena, well, that was hilarious to read! Espcecially snce Serena resists, even if she didn't want to, because Julian is that attractive to her. Yep.

Serena had a pretty good life before she died, she had a great family, and a few times of sadness with a death in that family, and she dies for a noble cause, saving a family and attempting to save another during a car crash the resulting explosion. So then she's an guardian angel, and she's assigned this movie star to help in his life, to be a positive influence. And then the tables are turned inside out and thrown into outer space when Julian comes along when her charge goes to Julian's club and chaos ensues, leading to Serena being blackmailed into coming with Julian to the opening of his latest club in Los Vegas.

There Serena really gets to know Julian, and he slowly gets to know her, and this leads to a lot of conflict, because really isn't a bad person, he just was tricked into doing bad things, and then put up an act because he had to. He did enjoy making the big bucks with his clubs, but nobody's perfect, and Serena taught him to be better.

Then comes the bad guys who were fellow demons of Julian, and who's hotel Julian was putting his club in. And her. The evil lady who has a past with Julian, who is the main reason he became a demon. And she blames him! I really hated her, she really, really, really did deserve everything that happened to her.

The ending was a bit bittersweet, what with what happened to Nick, but it was happy that Julian and Serena were happy, and I'm not telling how they defeated the bad guys! But they did, and yeah, that made the book really great!

I really enjoyed this book, so I hope you guys check it out sometime!
