Week 4 Review: After Obsession

From Goodreads:
Aimee and Alan have secrets. Both teens have unusual pasts and abilities they prefer to keep hidden. But when they meet each other, in a cold Maine town, they can't stop their secrets from spilling out. Strange things have been happening lately, and they both feel that something-or someone- is haunting them. They're wrong. Despite their unusual history and powers, it's neither Aimee nor Alan who is truly haunted. It's Alan's cousin Courtney who, in a desperate plea to find her missing father, has invited a demon into her life-and into her body. Only together can Aimee and Alan exorcise the ghost. And they have to move quickly, before it devours not just Courtney but everything around her.

My Review:
Oh, this was a really unique book! And I loved the back cover, the 4 steps, and how Obsession was the second one, and the one after obsession was possession! I loved that, that the title and the back cover worked together to create the idea about what the book was about! So amazing! And that it wasn't a horror book like most possession books, more of a YA paranormal romance, well, that was even better!

The characters were really great, they had some tough times, like not having a clue who their father was, or a mother thought to be crazy who died, to having a dad die in a storm and not accepting it. I loved how all these elements came together in the plot, how one tragedy lead to another, linked by what was wrong. And yeah, it was really fun to read!

The bad guy was really inspired, because well, how do you fight what was dead, or never really living in the first place? Well, if you have the help of your ancestors, well, that should be something easier. And that added with the good guys having a bit of power on their side didn't hurt. What Aimee could do was really sweet!

Yeah, this was an amazing book, and it was a pretty quick read, so check it out since it's really unique!
