Week 12 Review: Lola and the Boy Next Door

From Goodreads:
Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn't believe in fashion . . . she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit -- more sparkly, more fun, more wild -- the better. But even though Lola's style is outrageous, she's a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.

When Cricket -- a gifted inventor -- steps out from his twin sister's shadow and back into Lola's life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.

My Review:
Oh, this was a really funny book! And it was cute and sweet, with characters who embarrass themselves, like when Cricket tells Lola that he likes her, with her boyfriend right there. That was hilarious, if a bit sad for Cricket, putting himself on the line, even if near the end of the book, they were to get together once she thought she was worthy. And then they did, and it was very cute and good! Loved reading this book!

As the book progresses, things like what happened with Cricket and Calliope's last birthday party before they left for Calliope's skating career, well, it leads to more developments, where she and her boyfriend, Max break up, and honestly, they weren't a great couple because they really only did things that he wanted, and it was almost like she was a tag along instead of a strong girl out with her guy. And that may or may not have been because of their age difference, but he was definitely immature, what with the name calling, and the way he reacted, well, just proves my point.

Lola grew up in this book, and then yeah, her and Cricket were adorable! And I loved that we got to see Anna and St. Clair in this book, too! It was nice to see them again, and to see them when their romance wasn't the one in conflict! Yep.

This was an amazing book, loved it, can't wait to read the last companion novel!
