Week 51 Review: Chime

From Goodreads:
Before Briony's stepmother died, she made sure Briony blamed herself for all the family's hardships. Now Briony has worn her guilt for so long it's become a second skin. She often escapes to the swamp, where she tells stories to the Old Ones, the spirits who haunt the marshes. But only witches can see the Old Ones, and in her village, witches are sentenced to death. Briony lives in fear her secret will be found out, even as she believes she deserves the worst kind of punishment.

Then Eldric comes along with his golden lion eyes and mane of tawny hair. He's as natural as the sun, and treats her as if she's extraordinary. And everything starts to change. As many secrets as Briony has been holding, there are secrets even she doesn't know.

My Review:
This is one of the best books read of 2012! I enjoyed it so freaking much, it was so fantastic, everything about it! Such a great book, one that I'm really glad that I read, and one that I thought about after I was finished!

This world of witches, and burning them, and the Old Ones, it was different, and it was historical, which gave it another edge, some more building into what the world was, building it into the world that I loved reading about!

It wasn't obvious from the synopsis, but this book was pretty hilarious! I loved Briony's voice, because even though all she's been through, or maybe because of it, she has this very strong, definitive voice that I absolutely loved!

Then there were the quirks. I loved the quirks of this book, they were interesting and weird, and just an absolutely pleasure to read about! They sometimes didn't make sense, but they did bring little things together, and that was so great!

This really was a really great book, and I just really loved it so much!
