Week 5 Review: The Raven Boys

From Goodreads:
"There are only two reasons a non-seer would see a spirit on St. Mark's Eve," Neeve said. "Either you're his true love . . . or you killed him."

It is freezing in the churchyard, even before the dead arrive.

Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them—not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her.

His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble.

But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can't entirely explain. He has it all—family money, good looks, devoted friends—but he's looking for much more than that. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents all the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul who ranges from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher of the four, who notices many things but says very little.

For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She never thought this would be a problem. But now, as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she's not so sure anymore.

My Review:
This was a really, really fantastic book! I've enjoyed Maggie Stiefvater's books, but there was something about this book that made it one step higher! I just loved these characters, this world that they were in, and everything that was in this book!

These were characters that I really wanted to read more about! Blue, and her mom, living in the house with a bunch of weird ladies, the only one without magic, but the ability to amplify others. Gansey, going to this school because it's where he can continue his hunt. Ronan, the dark but awesome dude. Adam, who has some issues at home, and Noah, who was had a really awesome, should've-seen-it-coming-but-didn't twist!

Most of this book, it felt like most everything was all over the place. There was Gansey before she knew Gansey, on the St. Mark's Eve ghost walk. And the hunt for the king. And the school, and the relationships between the boys. And then there was the almost ending, and the murder, and everything that followed there! It was just so great!

Honestly, I'm really glad that this is a series. Because this book introduced a lot of threads! Like who Blue's dad might be, and how he might be connected to the king. And what Adam changed to have that reaction in the forest magic place, how that's going to play out! I just can't wait to read more about this world!

I really loved this book, so, so much, it was so entertaining and great, and I can't wait to read more!
