The Devil's Wife: Review

From Goodreads:
Lucifer Morningstar is a law-abiding, upstanding gentleman of New York City.

Lucifer Morningstar is the Devil.

The owner of powerful magic, Lucifer could have the world at his feet, if not for his apathy and loneliness. But he's finally found a reason to survive, someone to stand by him through the rough and smooth of his life, to care for and have care for him. He's found a new wife.

Clarissa opens Lucifer's eyes to the darkest side of the real world. It's not a pretty sight, full of paedophiles, murderers, rapists and thieves, all of which are personified in her ex-boyfriend. Can Clarissa convince Lucifer to do more than stand back and watch the world fall apart?

The Devil will do anything to fix Clarissa's world. And he will kill anything, God, Demon or Angel that gets in his way.

My Review:
This was a really fantastic book! I enjoyed it a lot, and while it's a different synopsis then the one that I read (which was Clarissa centric, not Lucifer centric, and a bit different) but this book, well, yeah, it was really fantastic!

So the beginning, I was wondering why the synopsis said "new wife" which implies that there was a first one. And in the prologue, it tells us what happened there, how God killed her. So setting Lucifer as the good guy, and God, the bad. Which is strange, but since it's fiction, I'll go along!

The world was a bit more violent, then hours, and Clarissa didn't seem to have any PTSD from her apparently plenty of traumatic experiences, which also tells me that these people are pretty strong minded and willed!

That ending was just a bit bizarre. If you can go along with the whole Lucifer Good/God Bad thing, then the ending was just a bigger stretch of that, of Lucifer killing God, becoming God himself, and then asking Clarissa to marry him. Yeah.

So I enjoyed this book a lot, it was very different, and while it could've been edited a bit better, it was a pretty enjoyable, if very strange, book!
