Week 2 Review: Fallen

From Goodreads:
There’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Even Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce – he goes out of his way to make that very clear. But she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, Luce has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret...even if it kills her.

My Review:
Oh, I enjoyed rereading this book, loved starting in this mystery again, that we got to be with Penn (Poor Penn) and meeting the angels and demons again, and yeah, which sides everyone was on, and how hot and cold Daniel was. Pretty great!

I really enjoyed the mystery, about Daniel, why was he pushing her away, and some of the comments that he made, and why he was being a dick, and then being, well, an angel, and actually caring for her, being nice, and yeah, it was confusing for Luce, though we know why-during this point, is usually when Luce has died over and over.

But this life is different, because she was raised without faith and belief in a higher power, so she didn't die when she and Daniel kissed, but if she dies, then she won't come back. So there was that, and both Luce and Daniel learn different parts of that over the book.

There were 2 character deaths, characters that we knew, or were getting to know, first the boy during the fire in the Library, and then Penn, by evil librarian! And yeah, that was sad, because they were innocent bystanders, and shouldn't have been pulled into the power struggle and battle between the Angels, Demons, and the people who want more power like EL.

Really enjoyed rereading this book!
