Emergency Review-a-Thon #1

Have you ever had just a few more reviews to write-but something stopped you? Have you gotten behind on writing reviews? Like sometimes, but not always, really behind, like 2 years worth of reviews. Well, then here comes the Emergency Review-a-Thon, that lasts half a day or an hour for each review, depending on how much free time you have, for however many reviews you have to write, the catch being, if you write more reviews then you planned, you get to reward yourself with something you've wanted for a while, but haven't gotten around to. If you meet your goal, then you can pat yourself on the back. But if you don't meet your goal, the next time you go to buy a book-you don't, because you don't reward bad behaviour. Kinda like a sliding scale of Write or Die, where if you don't write words, then the words disappear, but with rewards, or the possibility of rewards. Let's see if I can make this into bullet-point rules.

Rules:

  • For every review you want to write, you get half a day to write it or an hour for each review (for example with a goal of 3 reviews, you'd have a day and a half to write those reviews or 3 hours)
  • If you write more reviews then your goal in the time frame, then you get a reward that you picked out beforehand (continuing previous example, if you wrote 7 reviews in the day and a half or 3 hours) but you have to write at least 1 more review then your goal, preferably more
  • If you meet your goal, give yourself a pat on the back!
  • If you don't meet your goal, well, next time you go to buy a book, don't because you didn't meet your goal, so if you can't write the current reviews that you need, why would you add another book to read that you'd need to review?
  • Don't underestimate how many reviews you'd like to write, just to get the reward. If it turns out that you did, but you realize this before your time is up, then it'll be like your goal was however many reviews you'd written, in original time frame, and then any reviews written afterwards can count as over the goal reviews that qualify for the reward
  • The reason why there can be either half a day for each review, or an hour, is because some days you're really busy, like weekdays, but some days you have loads of free time on your plate, so you only need an hour, and this'll help from underestimating reviews

Since I don't think anyone else is going to do this, at least this time, I'm not going to do any fancy things like make a banner or links, but yeah. If anyone has a suggestion on making this better, because I know it's not perfect, comment below, please, because I know there could be a major problem with the underestimating, which I tried to fix with the last rule, but it doesn't help as much as I'd like to. Yep.

Goals: I will do an hour time-frame with a goal of 7 reviews. Those being, Rebel Heart, Sacrifice, Cast in Courtlight, Cast in Secret and Cast in Fury, Cast in Silence and Cast in Chaos and Cast in Ruin, and Cast in Peril and Cast in Sorrow. So I get 7 hours, and I'll start at 12 P.M., which is in just under an hour, and I'll end at 7 P.M. My reward if I write more then 7 reviews, is that I'll purchase my Harlequin Cart of books of 5 books, and my Amazon cart of 4 books (since most of them were on my Harlequin Cart previously, but where cheaper/actually had a copy for sale on Amazon) Yep. So I would have to write at least 8 reviews in 7 hours to get those. Can't wait!!!

If someone other then me actually participates, comment on your goals and or post your sign up/goal page on your blog! Thanks for stopping by! Happy reading!
