The Cypher: Guest Post

Today I'd like to welcome over Julian Rosado-Machain, author of The Cypher, over for a guest post!

The Story Behind Guardians Inc.

Whoa! Whoa! The story behind Guardians Inc. is a tale that I don’t really like telling, not because it’s boring, but because every time I’ve tried to tell anyone what the story is about or were I got the inspiration from people tell me that I sound like a crazy person….

Those exact words… Julian, you sound like a crazy person, a loon. Un loco pues…

Don’t believe me? Well, (and this might be the last time I do this ‘explaining’)

Guardians Inc. is a conspiracy theory in which this seven thousand year old Secret Society protects the balance of Magic and Technology and keeps it, or at least tries to keep it tilted in technology and humanity’s favor…

Faeries are not very fond of “playing nice” trolls do eat us when they have the chance, and the Olympians and Norse “Gods”? They would prefer to subjugate us rather than help us.

The more technology exists, the less magic does and so, while humanity rules for now and the Guardians have set up the national parks for magical creatures, (An Elven Kingdom lies in the redwoods of Mendocino, California for example.) it is better for humans and even for those magical creatures that the Guardians keep tab on Magical forces… because there is something beyond the magical world, watching and scheming…waiting for their chance to return and extinguish all life, Magical and mundane.

They’ve done it before. Five times actually, the great extinctions are their doing, the dinosaurs didn’t have computers to help them keep these… Wraith away and so they got erased with an asteroid….

So there it is in short, very short, what the book is about and were I get all my inspiration from, Biology, Mythology, Science fiction and Fantasy, all wrapped up into a conspiracy theory…

Sounds crazy?  A little bit I will admit, but that is why I placed The Cypher for free, so readers can decide just how crazy it is and, if it’s worth to keep on reading and so far, thankfully, 150,000 people have decided to download it and give it a try.

I truly hope you’ll try it too!

Thank you very much for the chance and I have to go now! (there are sirens outside the office and they might be coming for me!)

Happy reading!

Julian Rosado-Machain

From Goodreads:
GUARDIANS INC.: THE CYPHER is two stories in one. A glimpse into a multinational company that is in reality the oldest of secret societies, one that spans close to seven thousand years of existence, weaving in and out of history, guiding and protecting humanity from creatures and forces that most of us believe are only mythology and fairy tales.

The other is the story of Thomas Byrne, a young man thrust into secrets he shouldn't be aware of and dangers he shouldn't face but, that he ultimately will, for he is a Cypher. The only one who can steer humanity’s future.

The ultimate conspiracy theory is that Magic is real. Kept in check by technology but, every five hundred years the balance can shift and, if it does, technology will fail and those creatures we've driven into myth will come back with a vengeance.

To protect the present, Guardians Incorporated needs to know the future.
