Teaser Tuesday #175, August 19th

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
•Grab your current read
•Open to a random page
•Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
•BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Today's teaser comes from Lothaire by Kresley Cole, page 1.

"'What fresh humiliation does this day bring?' Ivanna the Bold asked her son, Lothaire, as guards escorted them to the vampire known as Stefonovich-the king of the Vampire Horde. And Lothaire's father.

This is the beginning of the book! But it's already not off to a good start for Lothaire, I think! What about you guys? Happy reading!

  1. The beginning doesn't grab me for some reason. Maybe because it seems like the author is explaining too much! But I'm curious about the "fresh humiliation." I'd keep reading.
My Teaser is from KATIE & THE IRISH TEXAN.

  2. It doesn't grab me either but I'd read on because of the mention of the Vampire Horde! Here's my TT.

  3. It definitely has dramatic tones to it, but Ivanna also sounds like she might be slightly bored. Interesting pick!
    My Teaser.

  4. The thing that Lothaire's dad being the leader of the Horde some time in the past, that's pretty important!

I should hope that she's not bored, getting tortured, and maybe almost killed, shouldn't be something you should be bored of!

Thanks for stopping by! Happy reading!

I love comments, so comment away! I'll comment back if you leave a post-specific link for me to visit! If you leave that link, I'll always comment back, even if it's like, a month late!

This is an award free blog! Thanks for thinking of me but I just don't have the time to pass it along!
