My Review:
This was a really interesting book to read! I thought that it might be about monsters like Frankenstein's Monster or Dracula, but it's about the cruel acts that humans do to each other in this book that are the monsters. And it did deal with some pretty horrible things.
It seems, that on an individual case to case, that rape is one of the worse crimes. And this book had two major cases of this. Callie, and that Vic is blamed for, that is most of this book. And then there was the rape that in which Vic was conceived, that his dad raped his mom. Yeah.
Vic was a really interesting character to read about. The shy boy, who then is accused of this, and then who also has a stutter? This was a pretty awesome book, and I read that the author wanted to write about the accused perpetrator, and in this case, have him innocent of the crime.
When we find out who the bad guy was, well, it was a bit of a sinking feeling, that he would do that, both to her, and then let the blame fall on Vik, that was just cruel. And all because he felt that he had a better future. Well, drunk for the first awful thing, and then future thing for Vik. Not nice!
I did enjoy reading this book, and the journeys that the characters went on, hard, but they got to a pretty good happy ending!
