Forget everything you thought you knew about genies!

As Azra uncovers the darker world of becoming Jinn, she realizes when genies and wishes are involved, there's always a trick.
My Review:
I enjoyed reading this book so much! I loved to hate this world (I do this a lot!) it was really horrible and unfair-that she's never met her dad, and when the ruling group makes her pregnant with a combo of magic and science, that her mom will then leave...yeah.
After her friend Jenny died, Azra didn't want to be a Jinn, since even with their powers, they can't bring someone back from the dead. And the whole thing was pretty reasonable (besides the situation of a dead friend which is horrible!) in that Jinn can't bring back the dead, and Azra's reaction to it all.
Then things get worse. That there were so many other bad things that explained why the world was why it was, things that she learned over this course of this book, as she was becoming Jinn. Yeah. I did that!
With all the mentions of her mom being a perfect Jinn, and then the comments that her mom's friend's made, plus with the mention that she had Afrit powers (and reading the ending before getting there naturally) equalled to me that her mom was a "bad girl" until she did something, or something bad happened, so she changed completely into a "good girl." It was great to read how it all played out!
Such a fantastic book, and with the wish that she has to make, yeah, I can't wait to read more!
