Week 7 Review: The Kiss of Deception

From Goodreads:
In a society steeped in tradition, Princess Lia's life follows a preordained course. As First Daughter, she is expected to have the revered gift of sight—but she doesn't—and she knows her parents are perpetrating a sham when they arrange her marriage to secure an alliance with a neighboring kingdom—to a prince she has never met.

On the morning of her wedding, Lia flees to a distant village. She settles into a new life, hopeful when two mysterious and handsome strangers arrive—and unaware that one is the jilted prince and the other an assassin sent to kill her. Deception abounds, and Lia finds herself on the brink of unlocking perilous secrets—even as she finds herself falling in love.

The Kiss of Deception is the first book in Mary E. Pearson's Remnant Chronicles.

My Review:
Gah, this book! So enjoyable, so interesting and so awesome! Loved it, devoured it, and I'm now desperately waiting for this week to be over so I can read the sequel! I have no idea why it took me so long to read this book-it was so incredible!

I really enjoyed getting to know this world, though the excerpts at the start of each chapter were sometimes a little confusing. But they were important, since one of them is what Lia stole! And Lia! Loved her, the defiant princess warrior, strong and intelligent but discounted as little in this world. But she made her own path, and was happy to be a bar maid.

And Rafe! And Kaden! Oh, man! Loved them! They were different, and both potential love interests until Lia chose who she wanted. And then all of the twists and turns there, that they were both pretending to be someone that they weren't.

When there was still 100-150 pages left, I was wondering where the story could go-it seemed like it could've ended there. But if it had, it would've been a lesser book, those pages developed this world as Lia learned about her powers and lost her brother, and that ending!

That ending! Oh, we knew that Rafe was the prince, but that was when Lia found out. And when they arrived at Venda's capital. Yeah, that was an ending, and one that is making me itch with need to read next book!

Loved this book so much, it was so fantastic, and I need more!
