Week 16 Review: Forest of Ruin

From Goodreads:
In a world at war, who can you trust?

The empire rests on the edge of a knife, and sisters Ashyn and Moria are the handle and the blade. Desperate to outmaneuver the evil Alvar Kitsune, whose hold on the people grows stronger every day, Emperor Tatsu begs Moria to put aside past grievances and ally with Gavril—at least long enough to make an attempt on Alvar's life. Meanwhile, reunited with her long-lost grandfather, Ashyn discovers that she is the key to a ritual that could reawaken an ancient dragon and turn the tide of the coming battle in their favor.

But with lies and betrayal lurking around every corner, Ashyn and Moria will have to decide once and for all where their allegiances are. And it may not be where their hearts would lead them…

In this breathtaking final book in her epic trilogy the Age of Legends, #1 New York Times bestselling author Kelley Armstrong blends fantasy, action, and romance to give readers the unforgettable ending they've been waiting for.

My Review:
Yeah, I absolutely loved reading this book! And that it picked up very quickly after it's two cliffhangers, well, yeah, that was really, really great! This was a really fantastic end to the series, though I'm sad to say goodbye to the characters!

That one revelation about waking the dragons, that was pretty darned cool! But balanced with the later one, that people were lying, that he wasn't her grandfather, and that it would take all of her blood to awaken the adult dragon...yeah.

This world is more violent then our own, so what happened to Simon-what's-his-face got what was coming to him, what he deserved. Sure, torture isn't a good idea, but like I said, this world is more violent, and that was their response. We don't live there, so yeah.

I really enjoyed how things worked out, romantically and otherwise! That Ronan got warrior caste, and that he and Ashlyn could be together! And that Tyrus is probably going to be the next emperor with his dragon! And that he and Moria are together! And the threesome friendship of Moria, Tyrus and Gavril!

I just absolutely loved this book, this series, and I just love Kelley Armstrong's writing! I can't wait to read her next book, and her next YA book, which are not the same thing!
