Week 37 Review: Apprentice in Death

From Goodreads:
Lieutenant Eve Dallas returns in a fast-paced new novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author J. D. Robb. Nature versus nurture...

The shots came quickly, silently, and with deadly accuracy. Within seconds, three people were dead at Central Park's ice skating rink. The victims: a talented young skater, a doctor, and a teacher. As random as random can be. Eve Dallas has seen a lot of killers during her time with the NYPSD, but never one like this. After reviewing security videos, it becomes clear that the victims were killed by a sniper firing a tactical laser rifle, who could have been miles away when the trigger was pulled. And though the locations where the shooter could have set up seem endless, the list of people with that particular skill set is finite: police, military, professional killer.

Eve's husband, Roarke, has unlimited resources--and genius--at his disposal. And when his computer program leads Eve to the location of the sniper, she learns a shocking fact: There were two--one older, one younger. Someone is being trained by an expert in the science of killing, and they have an agenda. Central Park was just a warm-up. And as another sniper attack shakes the city to its core, Eve realizes that though we're all shaped by the people around us, there are those who are just born evil...

My Review:
I loved reading this book! It's another In Death book, and this series is awesome, and of course, it could stand by itself, but it's so much richer as a series! It was just so wonderful to have this book, and there were mentions of her past cases, as well!

After Brotherhood and it's brand of horrors, this book was much easier to read! While this book's horrors were bad, they were a different flavor, and much easier to read about. And of course it's a J.D. Robb In Death book, so there's that!

A big part that makes this series fantastic is Eve, who she is, how she pokes at sayings, one that I remember, being "peachy." She's just a really wonderful character, and the change to her office, and the upcoming bedroom change is coming, and I enjoyed how she dealt with it all!

And while this book did deal with an apprenticeship, it moved beyond that, and I really enjoyed how everything came together there, the characters, and the mystery and investigation! It was just so fantastic to read and I loved it!

This series is just so fantastic, and I can't wait for the next book in the series!
