Week 53 Review: Alien Research

From Goodreads:
When rumors of a new super-drug surface, the FBI comes to Jeff and Kitty Katt-Martini for help. It becomes quickly apparent that the drug is merely the tip of a deadly iceberg and a much more insidious plan is underway involving Titan Security, Gaultier Enterprises, and YatesCorp.

As newly discovered A-Cs and hybrids begin to surface, each with expanded and deadly talents, more and more signs point to a new evil genius who's using the A-Cs and their enemies both as guinea pigs. Then Area 51 and the Dulce Science Center go silent while Alpha Team, Airborne, and most of the worldwide A-C Security team are there for training. And if that's not bad enough, Centaurion Division is hit with more bad, and deadly, news: Chernobog the Ultimate, isn't a hacker myth, he's a real person -- and he's on the bad guys' side.

Now Kitty and company must find the real Dr. Feelgood and stop him or her before the latest version of Surcenthumain hits the streets and more people they love are harmed, or worse. But when the inconceivable happens, Kitty's focused on two things only: reviving the ACE entity before their enemies realize Earth's best protection isn’t actually active…and revenge.

My Review:
This was another fantastic book in this series! So much happens in this book, and not a lot of it good, but there were a few discoveries! Plus a few creepy things! All in all, an amazing installment in this wonderful series, and I can't wait to read more!

In this book, they took a whole bunch of punches! First there was losing contact with so many of the group! And then it was Michael and his Poof's death. Then Gladys sacrificed herself. And then there was Naomi, who left and can't come back because of her choices. And this is all in a week! Not fun!

This book was like a blast from the past-there was less political maneuvering, and more fighting the bad guys. Which was great, both for nostalgia, and for switching things up and keeping things interesting! Plus, it was the required response to the bad guys moves! So awesome!

Like Alien Vs. Alien, this book changed the world. This is the first book to really take named character away from us and the group, and so many at that. We also got some new ones, and ACE came back! So yeah, I'm interested in group dynamic in the future!

So there are a few threads hanging. Like, where is the General Hammy? Who is the Mastermind? What's the situation with Chernobog and the A-C's data? And the teenaged clones of Reid and LaRue? And did I miss something, or is Kitty still technically in charge of everyone at the end of the book, or did that stop once Reader and the rest of Alpha and Airborne were OK? Yeah, lots of questions, and lots to play around with in future books!

Absolutely loved reading this book, it was absolutely amazing, and I can't wait to read more of this series!
