Week 38 Reviews: Forever Princess, Royal Wedding

From Goodreads:
What's a Princess to do?

It's Mia's senior year, and things seem great. She aced her senior project, got accepted to her dream college(s), and has her birthday gala coming up . . . not to mention prom, graduation, and Genovia's first-ever elections.

What's not to love about her life? Well . . .Her senior project? It's a romance novel she secretly wrote, and no one wants to publish it. Prince Phillipe's campaign in the Genovian elections isn't going well, thanks to her totally loathsome cousin Rene, who decided to run against him. Her boyfriend, J.P., is so sweet and seemingly perfect. But is he the one? And her first love, Michael, is back from Japan . . . and back in her life.

With Genovia's and her own future hanging in the balance, Mia's got some decisions to make: Which college? Which guy? How can she choose? Especially when what she decides might determine not just the next four years, but . . . forever!

From Goodreads:
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Princess Diaries series, comes the very first adult installment, which follows Princess Mia and her Prince Charming as they plan their fairy tale wedding--but a few poisoned apples could turn this happily-ever-after into a royal nightmare.

For Princess Mia, the past five years since college graduation have been a whirlwind of activity, what with living in New York City, running her new teen community center, being madly in love, and attending royal engagements. And speaking of engagements. Mia's gorgeous longtime boyfriend Michael managed to clear both their schedules just long enough for an exotic (and very private) Caribbean island interlude where he popped the question! Of course Mia didn't need to consult her diary to know that her answer was a royal oui.

But now Mia has a scandal of majestic proportions to contend with: Her grandmother's leaked "fake" wedding plans to the press that could cause even normally calm Michael to become a runaway groom. Worse, a scheming politico is trying to force Mia's father from the throne, all because of a royal secret that could leave Genovia without a monarch. Can Mia prove to everyone--especially herself--that she's not only ready to wed, but ready to rule as well?

My first review of Forever Princess, Royal Wedding
My Review:
I really felt compelled to read these books, after reading Ransom My Heart, and I'm glad that I did, it's been awhile since I last read Forever Princess, and I'd only read Royal Wedding once. It was just so fantastic to go back into this world of Princesses via diary writings!

I didn't reread this whole series, just the last 2 books. I've read this series multiple times since it's came out, so I didn't need to read the rest of them. Reading these two was just great, Mia dealing with graduation and Michael coming back, and then all the issues of being an adult and a princess. Just so great!

For some reason, I thought that Paulo would blab Mia's secrets to the world, from a line early on in Royal Wedding. Either it was in a previous book, maybe one of his helpers, or a movie. Which we might be getting a 3rd, which would be fantastic! Plus there was Olivia, and I just loved meeting her again! So cute! And such a great character, even though her aunt's family had treated her pretty badly. And the whole thing with the lawyer's kid attacking her, and the royal guard not being able to do anything because her dad might sue? Awful!

One thing that I wish? That we could've met somebody in Royal Wedding who Mia was friends with, that she made friends with as an adult. Sure, she has a ton of great friends from high school, and there's the problem of not knowing if the person was just using her because she was a princess...but I would've like Mia to have a new friend as an adult. Ah, well!

Such great books, and while I don't think I'll read Olivia's middle grade series, hopefully we just might get more in this world!
