Week 39 Review: There's Someone Inside Your House

From Goodreads:
Scream meets YA in this hotly-anticipated new novel from the bestselling author of Anna and the French Kiss.

One-by-one, the students of Osborne High are dying in a series of gruesome murders, each with increasing and grotesque flair. As the terror grows closer and the hunt intensifies for the killer, the dark secrets among them must finally be confronted.

International bestselling author Stephanie Perkins returns with a fresh take on the classic teen slasher story that's fun, quick-witted, and completely impossible to put down.

My Review:
This book was awesome to read! To be honest, I didn't enjoy it as much as her other books, the words the kids spoke and the way they used them were awkward and not really fitting in with the ages they were. Plus, we didn't really get to know them, this was more of an action book!

We did get to know the main characters, Makani and Ollie. Makani was half African-American and half Native Hawaiian and made a really bad decision. Which happened because she was under a lot of stress, what with being hazed and all. Ollie, orphan, shy and so-called goth, but not really. I really enjoyed them together, but they're the only ones we really got to know in this book!

I think one of my favourite parts of this book, is that we got to be in potential victims heads before a good deal of them were killed. That gave a great insight into who they were-and why they might have been killed. Not saying they deserved it, but why the killer chose them. Yeah.

We find out who the killer is midway through the book, and then it switches from who's the killer and whose next, to catching the killer before he kills again. Again, we didn't really get to know him and why he was doing this, characters were just mostly underdeveloped. And that Makani came to the conclusion of what his issues were pretty quickly, that was kinda strange. Plus, how the heck did the one person die of basically being decapitated, right near the end? Sure, there was a struggle, but that just came out of nowhere! Otherwise, this book had a pretty fantastic ending!

This book was pretty awesome, and I really enjoyed it!
