Week 5 Review: This Fallen Prey

From Goodreads:
When Casey Duncan first arrived at Rockton, the off-the-grid, isolated community built as a haven for people running from their pasts, she had no idea what to expect. There are no cell phones, no internet, no mail, and no way of getting in or out without the town council's approval. She certainly didn't expect to become the town homicide detective. But, the very last thing she expected was for the council to drop a dangerous criminal into their midst without a plan to keep him imprisoned. And she never thought that she'd have to be responsible for him.

The longer Oliver Brady stays in town, the more people seem to die around him. When evidence begins piling up that someone inside Rockton is working as his accomplice, Casey races to figure out who exactly Brady is and what crimes he's truly responsible for committing.

My Review:
Oh, yeah, this book was just absolutely incredible! I loved all the twists and turns, and of course it had everything that I loved about the previous books! I just loved all the developments, and the way it ended, wow, that was just evil!

Oh, that scene with Casey, her dog, and the mountain lion, oh, wow, that was so tense and I just had to keep reading! Casey has a few moments like that in this book where she knows better than to do it, she has plans to get around it, and then circumstances change and she's in the middle of it! So great to read!

The thing about this mystery was that we totally didn't know if Oliver Brady was guilty or not. And everything that he did kept flip flopping on him being guilty or innocent. And when his step-dad came in, a lot of Casey's job was taking in the details and finding the truth, which was really hard!

The ending was pure cliffhanger! Casey had figured out the majority of the twists, that huge betrayal was kinda dealt with, and things seemed a bit under control, and then they didn't! Wow, that was a hard ending to read, and this is the first of the series where a pretty significant part is going to be carried over, given the surgery that's required to be done by her sister!

I just absolutely loved this book and I need the 4th book stat!
