Week 32 Reviews: Flesh and Blood, Bad Blood, Out for Blood, Last Blood

From Goodreads:
With the Ring of Sorrows still missing, and the covenant between othernaturals and mortals broken, Chrysabelle's life outside the realm of vampire nobility is about to take another downhill slide. She's vowed to help the outcast Malkolm find a way to lift his curse, but that means returning to the home city of the vampire who's trying to kill her. The breaking of the covenant has also activated an ancient organisation designed to protect mankind — the Kubai Mata.

And when Kubai Mata Thomas Creek comes to Paradise City, Chrysabelle finds herself torn between the need to save Malkolm and the desire to stay on the path of light. Finally fulfilling her vow to Malkolm proves devastating for Chrysabelle. If she survives, what's left of her life will never be the same.

From Goodreads:
Violent murders occur in Paradise City as counterfeit comarré are systematically hunted. As war erupts at home, Malkolm and Chrysabelle head to New Orleans to recover the Ring of Sorrows. Forced to make a life and death decision, Chrysabelle will realize that her relationship to Malkolm may have fatal consequences.

Samhain approaches, bringing with it the final melding of the mortal and othernatural worlds. No one knows just how much power the night holds...

From Goodreads:
After nearly dying at the hands of the Aurelian, Chrysabelle finds new determination to move beyond life as a comarré. That is until the Kubai Mata bring a new task to her doorstep: rescue the child Tatiana has kidnapped, or Mal becomes enemy number one.

From Goodreads:
In the final showdown between the forces of dark and light, Mal and Chrysabelle face not only Tatiana, but the ancient evil that now controls her: the Castus Sanguis. Chrysabelle gathers her friends and family around her, forming a plan to bring an end to the chaos surrounding them. But the Castus is the most powerful being they've ever come up against. Defeating such evil will require a great sacrifice from someone on the side of light.

One of them will change sides. One of them will die. No one will survive unscathed. Can Chrysabelle save those she cares about or will that love get her killed? What price is she willing to pay to draw last blood?

My Review:
Oh, wow, these books were just so spectacular to read! I loved all the developments, they were sometimes hard to read because the characters really were in a hard place, but yeah, it was so great to read! Loved them!

There was a lot going on in each book. Doc had the whole witch thing that he had to deal with, and that snowballed out of control a lot. Then there was the Ring of Sorrows which everybody wanted. And then there was her need to find out more about her family. That caused a lot of pain, but I think it was worth it to Chrysabelle in the end!

We met a few more characters along the way, like Creek and the Mayor of Paradise City who becomes a part of this world in an interesting way! I liked Creek, though not for Chrysabelle, he was a good guy in a bad situation. The mayor, I was uneasy about in Bad Blood, but I really disliked her in the next two books! She was so awful!

It was funny, we were getting Tatiana's story as well, and if we didn't know what she was doing, working for the Ancient ones and what they wanted, well, I would've been rooting for her, because she does face hardship and adversity. And she does change and grow as a character. She just was on the wrong side.

That ending was so satisfying! There was a lot packed into this series, so a lot of the big things started off sooner than in other books, but that was great, because there was a lot to settle! I really enjoyed how everything worked out, it was the final puzzle piece!

Loved reading this series, these books were so freaking amazing and so great to read!
