Shattered Bonds: Review

From Goodreads:
Jane Yellowrock must dig deep and find strength within herself if she is to survive in the latest novel in this New York Times bestselling series.

Jane Yellowrock is a shapeshifting skinwalker, and vampire killer-for-hire, but her last battle with an ancient arcane enemy has brought her low. She seeks retreat in the Appalachian Mountains to grieve the loss of her friends, and to heal--or to die--from the disease brought on by her magic.

But malevolent elements in the paranormal community still seek to destroy Jane, and the younger Son of Darkness stalks her, even into the safety of the hills. With nowhere to run and her body failing, the rogue-vampire hunter and her inner Beast must discover a way to defeat this new threat, and find a form that gives her a chance to fight another day.

My Review:
Loved reading this book so much! After the ending of Dark Queen, well, I had an idea of what this book would be like, and I was pretty much totally off, and I loved it! Jane has been through a lot, and still has more time come, since there's 14 books contracted right now, yeah!

There was a bunch going on in this book, of course. There's the Son of Darkness causing all sorts of problems. Then there's her cancer, and that was tough to work around. And there's so many questions, and reveals, and information from previous books coming together, and it's just so great!

Even though she technically resigned, well, she still is the Dark Queen, with all the power and responsibilities that come with it. So it was so great to see that side of her, that makes the long term plans, that thinks and says things that are smart and authoritative.

And that ending, oh! We knew that there were many bad possible outcomes, and watching Jane navigate to try and not go down one of those paths was so great to read! She has a tough time, but that just makes for great read!

Such a great, fantastic book, and I can't wait to read more of this amazing world!
