Week 29 Review: The Persuasion

From Goodreads:
When Eve Duncan's daughter, Jane MacGuire, becomes a madman's target, Jane must team up with longtime love interest Seth Caleb in this suspense novel from the #1 bestselling author of Smokescreen.

Forensic sculptor Eve Duncan and ex-Navy Seal Joe Quinn are about to give Seth Caleb their trust for the most important duty of his life: keeping their daughter, Jane MacGuire, safe at any cost. Because Jane's talent as an artist has brought her to the attention of a madman.

Seth, Jane's longtime ally and fierce protector, is determined to keep her out of danger, but that becomes nearly impossible when Jane is forced to take matters into her own hands and confronts the man who wants her for himself...and wants Seth Caleb dead.

As Jane and Seth chase down their blood-thirsty adversary, they finally commit to one another -- in the culmination of the love story that fans have been waiting for. As the two come face-to-face with danger, one thing is made clear: it will take both of them working together to confront and defeat this evil.

My Review:
This was such a great read! I really enjoy this series, and it was really fantastic to read more about Jane and Seth! Though after the last Jane and Seth story, I thought they were together and happy. And the the Eve Duncan book before this said that they weren't together. So I'm glad to have this book, where they have another chance, yeah!

This book does take place right after Smokescreen, with Eve in Africa, and Michael with Jane. Loved that, because it's small, but why things are with Michael and Jane in Smokescreen, are explained in this book, so that was fantastic!

We did get to see Seth's sister again, she does cause a bit of trouble, between her presence and revealing things that maybe shouldn't have been, at least, not at that point in time. But I loved spending more time with her, if she gets a story some time in the future, I wouldn't mind it!

Man, this book just had me on the edge of my seat. This bad guy was a conniving bastard, and he really puts our gang through the wringer. And he was fairly smart as well, which meant that Jane and Caleb were having to be equal smart and creative to beat him. And I loved it!

This was a really great read, and I would love to have more in this series!
