Becca's BookoplAthon Roll as You Go Round Sign Up

So I know we're just coming off the month long version, but I wanted to try something slightly different. I decided to follow in the footsteps of Kara is Reading from Twitter. That for the day before, for each day, I'll do a roll (though if I get a double, I have to do another roll.) And if I finish a book and still have time that day, then I have to roll again. And this is on top of my Wheel of TBR and Weekly reads. I'll try and double up, but that's not certain. Yeah, I'm pretty crazy. I had to put a poll up to see if others would agree with me, and it was pretty overwhelmingly in favour of me doing this, yeah!

I did update the chance cards, taking out the ones I read, and bumping it up, so I have 10 books I'm pumped for, and 10 I'm meh about. I also updated the community shelf prompts, taking out the ones I used last time, and adding two more.

Chance Cards:
Three Charms for Murder by Honor Raconteur
Mikoto and the Reaver Village by Forthright
Murder on Cold Street by Sherry Thomas
Take Me With You by Tara Altebrando
Mist by Susan Krinard

A California Christmas by Brenda Novak
A Stitch in Time by Kelley Armstrong

Heartless by Marissa Meyer
Nowhere But Here by Katie McGarry
We Were Never Here by Jennifer Gilmore

The Lightness of Hands by Jeff Garvin
If You Dare by A.R. Torre

With the end of the September Round, I ended up on Big Book, so that's where I'm going to start from here. I'll be adding what rolls I get, and what book I choose here, though I'll also be putting that next roll once I finish a book.

Day 1, Roll 1:
A 6, which gets me to Small Book. I chose Three Charms for Murder by Honor Raconteur! It's 250 pages, so it's under 300, yeah! I'm so excited, I love this series!

Day 1, Roll 2:
A 4, which gets me to Chance Card. Using a random selection generator, I got Mikoto and the Reaver Village by Forthright! I love this series, and I'm so excited to continue, which seems to be a trend!

Day 2, Roll 3:
A 8, which gets me to Poll Pick. I did a poll on the discord channel, and The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson won! I'm so excited to continue with the Cosmere world!

Day 3, Roll 4:
A 4, which gets me to Adult. I'm going with The Alloy of Law by Brandon Sanderson! Yeah, I get to continue this world!

Day 4, Roll 5:
A 8, which gets me to Water on the Cover. So I'm going with These Rebel Waves by Sara Raasch! Waves are a type of water, and I really need to read this book!

Day 4, Roll 6:

A 3, which gets me to 5 Star Recommendation. I'm going with These Divided Shores, I need to read the sequel now!

Day 5, Roll 7:
A 5, which gets me to Friend Pick. I don't have any friends, and I've already had Poll Pick, so I interpreted this as Doggie Pick. So I had Jax pick (since I had Dobby pick most recently, so Jax got to have a turn) and he picked A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik!

Day 5, Roll 8:
A 9, which gets me to TBR Vet. I went with Caraval, because I've had it shelved on Goodreads since a year before it was published in 2017, so 2016. And I think I can finish another book today, I'd better!

Day 6, Roll 9:

A 2, which gets me to Dark Cover. I chose For the Taking by Brenna Aubrey. This is a bit of a cheat, because it's half dark, half light, but this is a for review book that I need to read before the 14th, so I need to fit it in.

And since it's a double (the first one) I'll be rolling again now! And I'm kinda glad, because I'll fly through For the Taking, and because I alread7 have this double, I won't have to roll again. So that's nice!

Day 6, Roll 10:

A 6, which gets me to Ebook or Audiobook. I chose In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren, I got this book as an eARC from NetGalley, and I need to read it, as well!

And I guess I spoke too soon, since I got another double! Though I again chose a pretty easy read! So here's yet another roll!

Day 6, Roll 11:

A 7, which gets me to Adult. I chose The Drafter by Kim Harrison. This is an adult urban fantasy, and I can't wait to read it again!

Day 7, Roll 12:

A 10, which gets me to Nature on the Cover. I chose Pride and Premeditation by Tirzah Price, it's a skull decorated with flowers, so it works! And this means that I'm 2 books behind, so I hope to get a lot of reading done tomorrow!

Day 8, Roll 13:

A 7, which gets me to Chance Card. I randomized by list, and Mist by Susan Krinard was selected. I'm a little scared, since I have roll 12 to read still, and I'm working 8 hours tomorrow. Eek!

Day 9, Roll 14:

A 6, which gets me to Community Shelf. I put my options in a randomizer, and Read a book written by a female author. I went with The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli. I was pretty sure that this book fit the prompt, but just in case, I double checked that Kristen used she/her in the bio in the back of the book, and it was she/her.

Day 10, Roll 15:

A 5, which gets me to Chance Card. Using a random choice selector, I got Murder on Cold Street by Sherry Thomas. Yeah, I can't wait to continue this series!

Day 11, Roll 16:

A 6, which gets me to POC Rep. I went with Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, because I have to read it, and the title says it, these are Latinx characters in Mexico, so POC rep. And I didn't finish a BookopalAthon book today, so that's unfortunate since I'm now 2 books behind! But I'm planning a 24 readathon tonight, so I should be able to finish these books!

Day 12, Roll 17:

A 11, which gets me to Sequel. I'm going to regret this, but Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson. It's book 2 in the Stormlight Archives, I already planned to read it this week, just not sure when. I still have the previous roll, but I've almost caught up!

Day 13, Roll 18:

A 6, which gets me to 5 Star Prediction. I chose Unrestricted Access by James Rollins. I love his writing, so I'm going to give this a 5 stars. Honestly, most books I read are 5 stars, so it was easy to pick for this roll!

Day 14, Roll 19:

A 3, which gets me to Community Shelf. Using a random choice generator, I got Read a book by your favorite author. I chose A Stitch in Time by Kelley Armstrong. I love her books, this book came out today, and I can't wait to read it tomorrow!

Day 14, Roll 20:

A 7, which gets me to Go! Randomize Your TBR. I went with what's in my current week's folder that I haven't read. Which was 29 books. Using a random number generator, I got 18. That turned out to be Sword of Destiny by Andrzej Sapkowski. Yeah, can't wait to read this! I did fall behind, but I had to work, get by blood drawn, and read a review book, so I didn't have time for yesterday's roll. But I shouldn't be working tomorrow, so I should catch up again tomorrow!

Day 16, Roll 21:

A 6, which gets me to Dark Cover. I went with Blood Rites by Jim Butcher, this is a very dark cover, and I can't wait to read it!

Day 16, Roll 22:

A 6, which gets me to Ebook or Audiobook. I'm going with Under Different Stars by Amy A. Bartol,  I have this as an ebook, so I can't wait to read this book today!

Day 17, Roll 23:

A 7, which gets me to Adult. I went with Shadows of Self by Brandon Sanderson. This is an Adult Fantasy book, and I can't wait to continue this series!

Day 18, Roll 24:

A 12, which gets me to Nature on the Cover. I'm going with The Bands of Mourning by Brandon Sanderson, the background is wintry and it's outside, so I'm counting that as nature!

And since it's a double, I have to roll again!

Day 18, Roll 25:
A 5, which gets me to Set in the Future. I went with Fortuna by Kristyn Merbeth, it's on a different planet but with humans, so we have more extensive space travel, so that's set in the future!

Day 19, Roll 26:
A 8, which gets me to Newest Purchase. My most recent purchase was The Traitor Queen by Danielle L. Jensen. And yeah, I'm so excited to read this book!

But because I got another double, I have to do another roll.

Day 19, Roll 27:
A 10, which gets me to Foiled Cover. I'm going to cheat slightly and go with Beyond the Black Door by A.M. Strickland. The title is shiny, and a bit raised, so I'm counting that! And I'm so excited to read this book as well!

Another double! So yet another roll. I'm not scheduled to work tomorrow, but I could be called in. So I'm not sure I can finish all of these books, but I'm going to try!

Day 19, Roll 28:
A 11, which gets me to Adult. I went with Ill Wind by Rachel Caine. This is an adult paranormal, and I can't wait to read this book!

Day 20, Roll 29:

A 8, which gets me to Water on the Cover. I went with The Bright and Breaking Sea by Chloe Neill. The title contains sea, which is a body of water, so that's how I'm using it!

Day 21, Roll 30:
A 5, which gets me to Set in the Present. I went with Five Total Strangers by Natalie D. Richards. This is a YA contemporary, so it's set in the present.

Day 21, Roll 31:
A 10, which gets me to which gets me to Community Shelf. I put my options in a randomizer, and Read a book released in 2019. I went with There Will Come a Darkness by Katy Rose Pool, since it came out there, and I need to read it this month!

Day 22, Roll 32:
A 8, which gets me to which gets me to TBR Game. So I went with Wheel of TBR like I did last month, and I got Jax Pick-Cyan. I gave him 3 options, and he went with Horrid by Katrina Leno.

Day 22, Roll 33:
A 8, which gets me to which gets me to Young Adult. I went with Set Fire to the Gods by Sara Raasch and Kristen Simmons, this is shelved first as Fantasy, and then Young Adult, so it works!

Day 23, Roll 34:
A 6, which gets me to which gets me to Sequel. I went with Dead Beat, this is the next book in the Dresden Files, so it's a sequel!

Day 23, Roll 35:
A 6, which gets me to which gets me to 5 Star Prediction. I went with The Veil by Chloe Neill. I love her writing and it sounds really great, and I can't wait to read it!

Day 24, Roll 36:
A 11, which gets me to which gets me to Lowest Rated. Which turned out to be The Girl of Hawthorn and Glass by Adan Jerreat-Poole, with a rating of 2.73. I'm excited to read this book!

Day 24, Roll 37:
A 7, which gets me to which gets me to Foiled Cover. I chose Shadowsong by S. Jae-Jones, the glass on the cover is shiny and reflective. So I'm counting it!

Day 24, Roll 38:
A 7, which gets me to which gets me to Poll Pick. I had done a poll with 5 Star Prediction, and it was a tie, so I'm going with the other book now, which was Sherwood by Meagan Spooner. I can't wait to read this book!

Day 25, Roll 39:
A 3, which gets me to which gets me to Young Adult. I went with Ultraviolet by R.J. Anderson, I need to read this book for a few reasons, so I'm glad to get to it!

Day 25, Roll 40:

A 3, which gets me to which gets me to First in a Series. I went with In the Hall with the Knife by Diana Peterfreund, this is the first book in the Clue Mystery series, and I'm so excited to read this book!

Day 26, Roll 41:
A 5, which gets me to which gets me to Fire on the Cover. I went with We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal, flame is another word for fire, so I'm going with that!

Day 27, Roll 42:
A 6, which gets me to which gets me to Set in the Present. I went with Take Me With You
by Tara Altebrando. This is a YA Mystery Thriller, so it's set in the present!

Day 26, Roll 43:
A 7, which gets me to which gets me to Highest Rated. For this, I used only the books that I want to read this week, and I got Revenge & Rapture by Deborah Wilde, with a rating of 4.48. Can't wait to read this book! And I may or may not read this today. If not, then it'll be the pick for Day 27!

Day 27, Roll 44:
A 7, which gets me to which gets me to Dark Cover. I went with Proven Guilty by Jim Butcher. This cover is green and black, so it works! And I need to continue this series!

Day 28, Roll 45:
A 6, which gets me to which gets me to Ebook or Audiobook. I went with Bending the Paw, I have this book as an ebook!

Day 29, Roll 45:

Day 29, Roll 47:
A 9, which gets me to which gets me to Water on the Cover. I'm going with Daughter of the Serpentine by E.E. Knight, it has a boat on the cover, so I assume it's on the water.

Day 31, Roll 48:
A 2, which gets me to which gets me to Nature on the Cover. I went with Seasons of the Storm by Elle Cosimano, it has flowers on the cover

And of course I got a double on the last day, which is bittersweet, because I did have a lot of fun this month, though the board got a little tiring, given that I've now gotten 49 prompts back to back!

Day 31, Roll 49:
A 6, which gets me to which gets me to Friend Pick. I'm cheating and spoiling slightly, but I got Jax Pick for Wheel of TBR, and he picked Lightning Game by Christine Feehan. I can't wait to read this book!

What about you guys? Happy reading!
