Week 4 Review: City of Fallen Angels

From Goodreads:
The Mortal War is over, and sixteen-year-old Clary Fray is back home in New York, excited about all the possibilities before her. She's training to become a Shadowhunter and to use her unique power. Her mother is getting married to the love of her life. Downworlders and Shadowhunters are at peace at last. And—most importantly of all—she can finally call Jace her boyfriend.

But nothing comes without a price.

Someone is murdering Shadowhunters, provoking tensions between Downworlders and Shadowhunters that could lead to a second, bloody war. Clary's best friend, Simon, can't help her—his mother just found out that he's a vampire, and now he's homeless. When Jace begins to pull away from her without explaining why, Clary is forced to delve into the heart of a mystery whose solution reveals her worst nightmare: she herself has set in motion a terrible chain of events that could lead to her losing everything she loves. Even Jace.

:
I love this book! This is the 3rd time that I've read it, but it's been a while since I last read it. So I remembered parts of the story, why what was happening to Jace was happening. But I didn't remember how it all went down. So it was great to spend this time with the characters again!

It was hard to watch Clary worry about her relationship with Jace, we know it's not because they're not happy together, but because he's being tormented because he no longer has the protections that Shadowhunters get at birth. So that sucks for them.

I really enjoyed Simon's story, I know he's going to become a Shadowhunter. but for now he's a Daywalker vampire, which has its pros and cons, and makes him an interesting piece on the board, and it was great to see him deal with Camille, and his relationship with Kyle!

I forgot a lot of what went down at the rooftop. Like why Simon was needed. What the group had been doing to kids to help Lilith. That Lilith died like demons die in the human world. And that it was the start of the end of Alec and Magnus's relationship with Alec freeing Camille. But I remembered that Sebastian took control of Jace! Bah!

This was another amazing read, and I can't wait to continue on with the story!
