Week 6 Review: Faithless in Death

From Goodreads:
In the new Eve Dallas police thriller from #1 New York Times-bestselling author J. D. Robb, what looked like a lover's quarrel turned fatal has larger--and more terrifying--motives behind it...

The scene in the West Village studio appears to be classic crime-of-passion: two wine glasses by the bed, music playing, and a young sculptor named Ariel Byrd with the back of her head bashed in. But when Dallas tracks down the wealthy Upper East Side woman who called 911, the details don't add up. Gwen Huffman is wealthy, elegant, comforted by her handsome fiancé as she sheds tears over the trauma of finding the body--but why did it take an hour to report it? And why is she lying about little things?

As Eve and her team look into Gwen, her past, and the people around her, they find that the lies are about more than murder. As with sculpture, they need to chip away at the layers of deception to find the shape within--and soon they're getting the FBI involved in a case that involves a sinister, fanatical group and a stunning criminal conspiracy.

My Review:
Oh, this was a fantastic read! This series is just so great, and I enjoy reading about Eve solving these cases! And this latest case, oh, was it so fantastic to read! I loved all the developments in the case! Absolutely loved reading it!

The investigation of this case was so satisfying to read! Who the bad guys ended up being, wow, that was complicated, and the initial murder was just the tip of the iceberg! The investigation went to a shocking place-and all because the details didn't add up. If one good thing came from this death, is that this corruption got rooted out! But lets just say, there's a reason why it's called Faithless in Death.

The details of this case do bring up memories for Eve, and to know all these women and children were living with these horrors had Eve striving all the harder to take down those that were treating them like that, and it was fantastic to read!

Oh, was that take down satisfying! First the actual arrest, and then the interrogation! I love watching the bad guys squirm, and a saying that Eve actually agreed with! It was a miracle! All in all, it was a really fantastic end to this amazing book!

This was another great read in this series, and I can't wait for the next installment!
