Week 9 Review: Million Dollar Demon

From Goodreads:
To save the city, Rachel Morgan will need to show some teeth in the next Hollows novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Kim Harrison.

The new master vampire of Cincinnati has arrived . . . and she wants Rachel Morgan out. No matter where Rachel goes, Constance is there--threatening Rachel's allies, causing city-wide chaos, and, to add insult to injury, even forcing Rachel out of her current quarters. Ever since Rachel found a way to save the souls of vampires, the old undead's longtime ascendancy has been broken. Now Constance sees eliminating Rachel as the key to consolidating her own power.

Rachel has no desire to be enthralled or killed--and she's terrified of what may become of the city if Constance forces a return to the ancient ways. But even a witch-born demon can't stand against the old undead--at least, not alone. And if Rachel refuses to claim the role of Cincinnati's master demon, the city will tear itself apart, taking her and all those who stand beside her with it.

My Review:
I absolutely loved reading this book! The threat of Constance was introduced in the previous book, and I loved watching Rachel face off against her, because it did add so much to the world! This book we really get to explore the fix that Rachel and the gang came up with for vampires at the end of The Witch With No Name, so that was really great!

This book does deal with Rachel and Tink trying to find a new home, which it harder than it seems, given Constance wants Rachel gone, and people are taking sides, which is causing a growing conflict. But was really great to have her and Trent's relationship steady!

We did get some developments in the demons, demon magic, and demon-elf relationship, which I'm so excited about, as well as Al, Rachel and his brother Hodin. That was hard to read, because Rachel's stuck in the middle, and neither of them will really tell her why they're like this. And without that information, both her and us readers don't know why they can't get along!

I really enjoyed how Rachel handled, things, sure, it wasn't fully smooth, but it did work out. And I'm excited to see what this subrosa will mean going forward, and what, if any, changes Rachel will have to make! So excited to see where it goes from here!

I'm so glad to have read this book, and I can't wait for the next book in this series!
