Week 13 Reviews Dead Girl Running

I have three confessions to make:
1. I've got the scar of gunshot on my forehead.
2. I don't remember an entire year of my life.
3. My name is Kellen Adams...and that's half a lie.

Girl running...from a year she can't remember, from a husband she prays is dead, from homelessness and fear. Tough, capable Kellen Adams takes a job as assistant manager of a remote vacation resort on the North Pacific Coast. There amid the towering storms and the lashing waves, she hopes to find sanctuary. But when she discovers a woman's dead and mutilated body, she's soon trying to keep her own secrets while investigating first one murder...then another.

Now every guest and employee is a suspect. Every friendly face a mask. Every kind word a lie. Kellen's driven to defend her job, her friends and the place she's come to call home. Yet she wonders--with the scar of a gunshot on her forehead and amnesia that leaves her unsure of her own past--could the killer be staring her in the face?

My Review:
This was such a great read! I loved the mystery, and I loved this setting, and it was such an entertaining read! I wanted to know why her name could be half a lie, and which half, and I wanted to know more about what she was running from!

We do get, fairly quickly, her past, what's she's running from, and boy, that was a sucky situation. That he did that, and why he did that? Awful. But she was strong and she picked up the pieces, and she's made a good life for herself.

With finding the dead body at her work, things become pretty intense pretty fast. They are fairly cut off at the moment, so there's only a few people who are suspect. With the added pressure that she doesn't remember her husband's face, and the question of if he was even behind it in the first place. I just wanted to know it all!

I really enjoyed how things progressed, watching the clues come to light, seeing them be put together, and how everything ended up! It was really entertaining, and I'm excited to see what the future holds for this series!

Loved reading this book, and I can't wait to continue on!
