Week 42 Reviews: Belladonna, The Voice, Bridge of Dreams

From Goodreads:
The thrilling follow-up to Sebastian.

The Eater of the World continues to spread its dark influence across the realm of Ephemera, corrupting people's souls with doubts and fears. Only Glorianna Belladonna possesses the ability to thwart the Eater's plans. But she has been branded a rogue, and must stand alone against the encroaching entity.

But she is not alone. In dreams, a call has traveled throughout Ephemera-"Heart's hope lies within Belladonna"-and reached Michael, a man with mysterious powers of his own. It awakens a fierce hunger within him to find the dark-haired sorceress he's dreamt of-a beautiful woman named Belladonna. Together, they may be Ephemera's only hope.

An original novella from the New York Times bestselling author of Bridge of Dreams…

In a small village outside the city of Vision, the people know no sorrow or grief. But this seemingly idyllic community is hiding a terrible secret. As a young child, Nalah did not know why she was told to bring a cake to the mute girl known as the Voice whenever she was upset, only that doing so made her feel better. Now grown, Nalah understands the dark truth, and yearns to escape from the oppressive village that has been her life-long home. But it is only after visiting the city of Vision and discovering the Temple of Sorrow that Nalah understands what she must do to be free…

Return to New York Times bestselling author Anne Bishop'

But a darkness is spreading through Vision, perplexing the Shamans who protect it—and Lee is the only one who can shed any light on its mysteries....

My Review
:
Wow, I loved reading these books! I just love this world, it's so interesting, and the idea of a shattered land, so if you cross a bridge, it might not take you to where you saw, but where you resonant with, it's so intriguing, and in the rest of this series, we got to explore so much more, so that was fantastic!

Belladonna introduced the fact that not all of the world has Landscapers and Bridges, that their world didn't shatter, that it operates fairly normally, though there is still magic, and still familiar roles. It just expresses itself slightly differently, and that was really great!

I enjoyed the romances in both of the full length books, I'm really glad that all of the cousins got stories, got a chance to fall in love. And each of the other members of the relationship brought something new to the world, from Michael and his powers and his stories, to Zhahar and her sisters!

The fact that Belladonna is about taking down this big bad, well, it had me wondering what the threat would be in Bridge of Dreams, if all the evil was supposed to be dealt with. So that was really interesting to read. Though I did find that the ending of Bridge of Dreams didn't resolve things as much as I would like, about the threat that was posed in her home land, and of their romance. I just would've liked a few more details!

Loved reading these books, and I can't wait to read the rest of Anne Bishop's books!
