Week 45 Reviews: Ravensong, Lovesong

From Goodreads:
Gordo Livingstone never forgot the lessons carved into his skin. Hardened by the betrayal of a pack who left him behind, he sought solace in the garage in his tiny mountain town, vowing never again to involve himself in the affairs of wolves.

It should have been enough.

And it was, until the wolves came back, and with them, Mark Bennett. In the end, they faced the beast together as a pack… and won.

Now, a year later, Gordo has found himself once again the witch of the Bennett pack. Green Creek has settled after the death of Richard Collins, and Gordo constantly struggles to ignore Mark and the song that howls between them.

But time is running out. Something is coming. And this time, it's crawling from within.

Some bonds, no matter how strong, were made to be broken.

She has lived.

She has lost.

Everything she has is blue.

But here, in the end, she'll be given one last chance.

A gift for all she has endured.

And her lovesong will be heard.

My Review:
Oh, man, I just loved reading these! Loved reading more about the Bennett pack, and getting to know Gordo and Mark's story! We got to see the history of the pack, of why it left Green Creek, because boy, has it been through a lot! And that history explains why Richard Collins caused the events in Wolfsong in the first place!

I loved seeing Gordo as a child, as he became the man that hew as in Wolfsong. We got to see the pack as it was, long before Ox and Joe were born, and all this history that is so important to the Green Creek pack. These events shape who Gordo is, as a witch, and as a person, why he's gruff and sharp-edged.

Then once we got to the point set after Wolfsong, boy, did things start going down, and getting complicated! I wasn't quite sure what was going on, but it was a doozy, with some pretty hard punches! But some lovely moments as well, and I can't wait to see how it plays out in the second half of the series!

Lovesong, oh, it was a short but fantastic read, I felt so badly for Elizabeth, she's lost so much, and this story was bittersweet, but I'm glad for those moments that she did get, because no way do I want her to not see the rest of her sons find happiness!

Loved these so much, and I can't wait to continue, and then finish the series off!
