Week 51 Review: To All the Boys I've Loved Before

From Goodreads:
Lara Jean's love life goes from imaginary to out of control in this heartfelt novel from the New York Times bestselling author of The Summer I Turned Pretty series.

What if all the crushes you ever had found out how you felt about them…all at once?

Lara Jean Song keeps her love letters in a hatbox her mother gave her. They aren't love letters that anyone else wrote for her; these are ones she's written. One for every boy she's ever loved—five in all. When she writes, she pours out her heart and soul and says all the things she would never say in real life, because her letters are for her eyes only. Until the day her secret letters are mailed, and suddenly, Lara Jean's love life goes from imaginary to out of control.

My Review:
I enjoyed reading this book! The whole concept of the letters that she wrote to get over her crushes, meant only for her eyes, being sent to said ex-crushes-was just such a dramatic idea, and while I was a bit hesitant because I avoid awkwardness, this was a really cute and easy read!

I do agree with one complaint that I saw about this book, and that was Laura Jean seemed and acted younger then her age, and that was a tad bit annoying, even if this was a time of upheaval in her life with her older sister going off for college, didn't mean that Lara Jean had to act more like a tween then a teen.

Writing down your feelings, as a way to express her emotions, that's a good idea. But when they're sent out (which was a pretty awful violation) well, the panic! I was so nervous, because it's a pretty awkward situation for her, both the most recent letter, and the ones where her feelings had passed.

The main focus was on her relationship with these guys, and that was a lot of fun to read, there's a reason this series has done so well and was made into movies. But Lara Jean does have more going on in her life, that her older sister is out of the country for school, and now Lara Jean is the one with the responsibility. So I loved that!

I enjoyed reading this book, and I can't wait to see where the sequels go, and to watch the movies!
