Week 2 Review: Death Over the Garden Wall

From Goodreads:
Three modus operandi to die. Four employees, six house guests, and not a single witness.

Confusing clues and no helpful leads cloud the death of Countess Giada Barese, who washed up on shore two weeks after her mysterious disappearance. Henri and Jamie have no idea if her death is a homicide, suicide, or accidental death, for nothing adds up.

There is something strange going on, though, Jamie's sure of that. The countess was found wearing mismatched slippers, her lover disappeared the next day, and everyone is acting shifty.

Jamie feels like she's playing a game of Clue, one she's determined to win. Where's a candlestick when you need one?

My Review:
Oh, I really enjoyed reading this book! I love this world so much, and these characters, and there were quite a few life updates in this book, which were especially thrilling to read! And I can't wait to see how all of that is going to play out in the future!

First off, those updates. That Jamie is going to be a Kingsman, and create a FBI-like department. And that Henri becomes a Royal Mage! The first has been building for a while, just waiting for Jamie to get used to the world. But Henri? That came out of the blue, though if you're in Honor Raconetur's Facebook Group, we got the teaser of that being suggested, and that was so great!

This mystery was really interesting, because it's unclear if this was a murder or not. And given that the body was found at sea after 2 weeks, there weren't many physical clues. So it's an interesting investigation, first finding out if it was a murder at all! Loved this mystery, and how it played out!

Jamie talks a lot about the base foundation for a investigation in this book, of interview, interview again, and interviewing everyone that you can in a person's life, to put the pieces together, so you know what could be important, once it's found, and I really enjoyed that! Though they do have a lot of people to interview, given that this was a high society gal!

This was such a fantastic book, and I can't wait to see where the series goes from here!
