Week 4 Review: Highland Wolf

From Goodreads:
New York Times Bestselling Author Lynsay Sands delivers another sexy historical romance set in the wilds of the Highlands

In all her daydreams about her wedding day, Lady Claray MacFarlane never once imagined being dragged to the altar by her greedy uncle and forced to marry a man she didn't know. But that's what happened, or would have, had a Highland warrior not snatched her up at the last minute and ridden off with her in his arms...

They call him the Wolf. The mercenary's courage and prowess in battle are known throughout the Highlands, and with his handsome face and black-as-sin hair, he was as intelligent and deadly as the wolf he was named for...

But the Wolf is also Claray's betrothed. Thought to have been killed as a child, he'd been in hiding all these years. Now, he's determined to earn enough coin to rebuild his home, reclaim his birthright, and honor his marriage contract to Claray. For he's fallen for the tender-hearted lass...and he will do anything to protect her and their future together.

My Review:
Yeah, this was a really great read! I've loved reading this series, and while I still think that one Buchanan brother is still alive, for now, it looks like we've switched families, to Claray's, since her sister is the star of the next book. Though they are connected-Claray's mom was sister to the Buchanan's we've followed dad. So that's great!

I had a great time getting to know Claray and the Wolf/Bryson. They were betrothed when they were children-but his family was wiped out right after her parents left after it was arranged. He survived, but she didn't know that. So I really enjoyed that dynamic!

Their quirks were really fun to read about! Like the fact that she just can't help but help injured critters, and has many animal companions, and how many she found on the course of them getting home. And of course there were all the attempts on their lives. Though they are a bit at square one on searching the castle-after so many books, the Buchanan's have learned from each one, and Bryson wasn't able to draw on that knowledge!

One thing that I'm not so happy about is that this book does spoil the events of the next book. Well, we do know that the good guys would triumph, knowing that they did before we read it is a little bit much. But I do guess since we didn't see how it played out, just having a summery that it did happen, that the next book is going be fine to read, even knowing what's going to happen!

Loved reading this book, and I can't wait for the next installment in this series!
