First Lines Friday #567, March 25th

First Lines Friday is a bookish meme hosted by Literary Marie of Precision Reviews. We encourage all of our fellow book bloggers and bookhearts to play along.

-Grab your current read(s)
-Share the first line(s)
-Include the title and author so that other FLF participants can add the book to their TBR Lists!

"Mrs. Anderson was dead. Nothing flashy, just old age-she went to bed one night and never woke up. They say it was peaceful, dignified way to die, which I suppose is technically true, but the three days it took for someone to realize they hadn't seen her in a while removed most of the dignity from the situation. Her daughter eventually dropped b to heck on her and found her corpse three days rotted and stinking like roadkill. And the worst part isn't the rotting, it's the three days-three whole days before anyone cared enough to say. 'Wait, where's that old lady that lives down by the canal?' There's not a lot of dignity in that. But peaceful? Certainly."-I Am Not a Serial Killer by Dan Wells

This is pretty dark, but given the title, I was expecting that! Must read more now! What about you guys? Happy reading!

I love comments, so comment away! I'll comment back if you leave a post-specific link for me to visit! If you leave that link, I'll always comment back, even if it's like, a month late!

This is an award free blog! Thanks for thinking of me but I just don't have the time to pass it along!
