Week 11 Review: The War of Two Queens

From Goodreads:
From the desperation of golden crowns…

Casteel Da'Neer knows all too well that very few are as cunning or vicious as the Blood Queen, but no one, not even him, could've prepared for the staggering revelations. The magnitude of what the Blood Queen has done is almost unthinkable.

And born of mortal flesh…

Nothing will stop Poppy from freeing her King and destroying everything the Blood Crown stands for. With the strength of the Primal of Life's guards behind her, and the support of the wolven, Poppy must convince the Atlantian generals to make war her way—because there can be no retreat this time. Not if she has any hope of building a future where both kingdoms can reside in peace.

A great primal power rises…

Together, Poppy and Casteel must embrace traditions old and new to safeguard those they hold dear—to protect those who cannot defend themselves. But war is only the beginning. Ancient primal powers have already stirred, revealing the horror of what began eons ago. To end what the Blood Queen has begun, Poppy might have to become what she has been prophesied to be—what she fears the most.

As the Harbinger of Death and Destruction.

My Review:
This was such a fantastic book! The ending of Gilded Bone had me dying for this book-and A Shadow in the Ember gave us information that was pretty vital to this book! That prophecy really played a big part in this book!

I couldn't put this down, once I started reading it. I had to know how Poppy and Cas were going to be reunited-and how much it was going to cost them before it happened. And man, was it dark! But oh, so intriguing to read! Once they were together I had a big sigh of relief!

One thing that I found quite funny was how much Reaver poked at them. They had a number of assumptions that we knew were false, and he had them questioning those. And we knew the truth, so I really enjoyed him doing so!

Oh, and there was that scene. You know what I'm talking about, the one that's been building up for a while, and boy, was it steamy! Though it could've been steamer, a few more details, because I was just the slightest bit confused, but yeah, really enjoyed reading that!

A big part of this book was the prophecy, and how it relates to Poppy. And it's interesting, because it was interpreted one way at the end of Shadow in the Ember, and now a different way here. But they all came together for some really interesting and terrifying developments that I can't wait to see play out!

Again, another evil ending! I need to know how long this series, and the Flesh & Fire series. Goodreads says there's 6 books right now for Blood & Ash, and 2 in Flesh & Fire. Because the big guns have been brought to the table, and I need to know how long it's going to take before our good guys triumph!

Loved this book so much, and I can't wait for A Light in the Flame!
