Week 16 Review: Doggone Deadly

From Goodreads:
Kari Stuart is roped into helping out at a dog show--but soon finds she's bitten off more than she can chew when her best friend is framed for murder in this new Catskills Pet Rescue Mystery.

When the woman who is supposed to run the local dog show calls out sick, dog groomer Suz is asked to take over. But it's too much for her to handle by herself--especially with the president of the kennel club, Olivia Weiner, criticizing her at every turn--so she calls in her best friend, Kari Stuart, with the promise that Kari can set up a fund-raising and kitten-adoption station at the show.

A long and stressful day goes from bad to worse when a local breeder's body is found in the supply tent, with Suz's signature purple-handled shears embedded in her chest. Kari doesn't think for a second that her friend is capable of murder; the police aren't so sure. But trying to run a dog show and investigate a murder at the same time is like herding cats, and Kari will have to rely on the rest of the Serenity Sanctuary staff to keep things running smoothly while she--and her beloved and clever kitten, Queenie--sniff out the truth.

My Review:
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I love dogs, and having a murder at a dog show, well, it meant spending a lot of time with dogs, since it was the humans getting murdered! And while Kari isn't a suspect this time, her best friend, Suz is, so of course Kari has to investigate!

There were a number of suspects set up, and I had no clue as to who the killer could've been. And there were a lot of motives, because the victim had secrets in her past that were coming to light-and put her in a bad one. Though her present wasn't much better, it was pretty bad what she was doing!

There were a lot of small details that made up this book. Like why Suz's things were used in the process of these murders, implicating her-and how were they gotten. And of course casual conversation brought up important details that helped solve this mystery!

I'm so excited for the sequel-there was a line in this book about ex-husbands popping out of nowhere, and I know Claws for Suspicion has Kari's ex coming around and causing trouble, so I'm really excited to read that! It's going to be so great for us and horrible for Kari!

This was another fantastic read and a great mystery, and I can't wait to read the sequel!
