Week 27 Review: The Law

From Goodreads:
From the number one New York Times bestselling The Dresden Files series, a brand new novella set after Battle Ground, that thrusts Chicago's only professional Wizard, Harry Dresden, back into battle–both a legal one… and the kind with explosions.

Not every danger comes in the form of a mega-threat like a Titan. Some predators are a lot cozier... more personal.

When one such creature threatens an independent tutor, Harry Dresden must shake off the blood and dirt of his most recent battles and rise to the occasion, even when it turns out that the new predator is far more dangerous and connected than first appearances would suggest.

My Review:
I had a really great time reading this book! I love this series, and this was a really interesting look at a detective case that Dresden takes on. And honestly, he needed a simple case after the events of Battle Ground. And it had an interesting conversation on the amount of power people have, and how to use the right amounts for each situation.

Harry is a worn around the edges after everything that happened, what he lost, and wen through. So this case about a former sex worker turned tutor being sued by her former pimp, well, it's not a city-destroying case, and it was really great to go back to his roots.

I found it a bit funny, because the pimp was a horrible guy-but he was also so very stupid, and Harry couldn't intimidate him, because of the cover story for the city's destruction made the guy think he was on something. So it was pretty funny!

It was interesting to see all the plays that ended up connected to this case, between the lawyers and all. And watching Harry hit wall after wall. But I really enjoyed how everything came together, it was really satisfying, the solution that they came up with-and the results of the trial!

Loved reading this book, and I can't wait for what's next in the series!
