Week 29 Review: Soul Taken

From Goodreads:
Mercy Thompson, car mechanic and shapeshifter, must face her greatest fears in this chilling entry in the #1 New York Times bestselling series.

The vampire Wulfe is missing. Since he's deadly, possibly insane, and his current idea of "fun" is stalking me, some may see it as no great loss. But, warned that his disappearance might bring down the carefully constructed alliances that keep our pack safe, my mate and I must find Wulfe—and hope he's still alive. As alive as a vampire can be, anyway.

But Wulfe isn't the only one who has disappeared. And now there are bodies, too. Has the Harvester returned to the Tri-Cities, reaping souls with his cursed sickle? Or is he just a character from a B horror movie and our enemy is someone else?

The farther I follow Wulfe's trail, the more twisted—and darker—the path becomes. I need to figure out what's going on before the next body on the ground is mine.

My Review:
Man oh man, this was such a fantastic read! I was looking forward to it so much! I love Patricia Briggs' writing, and Mercy and her stories! That Wulfe is potential in trouble-or is causing trouble-is a big deal, what with his powers, and the role that he plays.

After the events of Wild Sign, well, it shook things up for the Tri-Cities pack. Because Sherwood Post has his memories again. So that was an added complication, and I loved watching it all play out! And what we learned, oh, was so great! Though I know that was just the beginning, there's so much more to learn!

I'm pretty sure that this is the first book since Silence Fallen that we got Adam's perspective in a full length book. It was just a chapter, but it gave us some very interesting tidbits, and it was great to see Mercy from an outside perspective!

The idea of this threat, and the harm that it causes, well, it's got interest brewing from all sorts of sides, vampire and fey, as well as raising concerns about the ability of the pack to protect their territory. They were in a pretty tight bind! I loved all that we learned in this book, as well as the developments and how they won! I'm so excited to see how this is all going to play out in the future!

This was a fantastic read, and I can't wait for the next book!
