Week 30 Review: Not My Problem

From Goodreads:
Aideen has plenty of problems she can't fix. Her best (and only) friend is pulling away. Her mother's drinking problem is a constant concern. She's even running out of outlandish diseases to fake so she can skip PE.

But when Aideen stumbles on her nemesis, overachiever Meabh Kowalski, in the midst of a full-blown meltdown, she sees a problem that—unlike her own disaster of a life—seems refreshingly easy to solve. Meabh is desperate to escape her crushing pile of extracurriculars. Aideen volunteers to help. By pushing Meabh down the stairs.

Problem? Solved. Meabh's sprained ankle is the perfect excuse to ditch her overwhelming schedule. But when another student learns about their little scheme and brings Aideen another "client" who needs her "help," it kicks off a semester of traded favors, ill-advised hijinks, and an unexpected chance at love. Fixing other people's problems won't fix her own, but it might be the push she needs to start.

My Review:
I enjoyed reading this book so much! I had such a great time reading about Aideen, and how helping on person, turns into something of a business of helping people using the favours of the previous people who she helped. It was such a fantastic read!

She's had it tough, she's the product of an affair, her dad is married to someone else. But he keeps coming around, and when he leaves, it destroys her mom, who is an alcoholic. They're not well off, but she does go to a good school because of her dad. Which is why she goes to school with Meabh.

The way things cascaded from one thing to another was really great to read. That by helping Meabh, who she doesn't really like, turned into a series of favours that helped down the line in helping someone else. That she wanted to help people was really kind, and I loved that about her!

While this was going on, she found herself with a group of friends, which she'd never had before, and was having a hard time opening up to them. But she learned to, it was such a great journey! And there was how that impacted her self worth. I loved how things developed with her and Meabh!

This was a really great read, and I can't wait for more by Ciara Smyth!
