Week 6 Review: Radiant Sin

From Goodreads:
There's nowhere more dangerous than Olympus...and no one more captivating than its golden god: Apollo. Keeper of secrets, master of his shining realm...and the only man I am powerless to deny.

*A scorchingly hot modern retelling of Apollo and Cassandra that's as sinful as it is sweet.*

As a disgraced member of a fallen house, Cassandra Gataki has seen firsthand what comes from trusting the venomous Thirteen. But when the maddeningly gorgeous and kind Apollo asks her to go undercover as his plus-one at a week-long party hosted by a dangerous new power player...Cassandra reluctantly agrees to have his back.

On one condition: when it's all over, and Apollo has the ammunition he needs to protect Olympus, she and her sister will be allowed to leave. For good.

Apollo may be the city's official spymaster, but it's his ability to inspire others that keeps him at the top. Despite what the rest of Olympus says, there's no one he trusts more than Cassandra. Yet even as their fake relationship takes a wicked turn for the scaldingly hot, a very real danger surfaces... threatening not only Cassandra and Apollo, but the very heart of Olympus itself.

My Review:
I absolutely loved reading this book! I'm just obsessed with this series, and this latest installment sounded really fantastic! And boy, it was, I loved Cassandra and Apollo, they were such a great couple! Plus this book really kicked the series overarching storyline in high gear!

Apollo and Cassandra work so well together as a couple! They have their bumps in the road, like he's dedicated to protecting Olympus, he's one of the Thirteen. But her parents made a risky move, and ended up being killed by the Thirteen, and she's been ostracized by the upper class, and thus she hates the Thirteen and just wants to get the heck out of dodge. But they love each other, and I really enjoyed their story!

One thing that I love is how the mythology is playing out. Some things, yeah, probably not going to play out like they do in the myths. But one thing that this book had was that Cassandra saw things coming, like that what her parents were going to do wasn't going to end well, or that this party that they're at isn't going to end well-and she's not believed. The mythological Cassandra had the gift of prophecy but was cursed not be believed. So that was a really cool part of this retelling!

The first 5 chapters were up on NetGalley as a sampler. And once I read them, I was pretty sure what the endgame of the bad guys was going to be. Because this is a book, and why else would Cassandra's backstory be what it was, if not connect to what's currently going on? So I loved how that turned out!

Honestly, I'm so excited to see where this series is going to go. We know who the couples are for the rest of the series, and all 5 of Mino's group ends up in a relationship, so it's likely that they're going to turn on him. (Which, yeah, go them!) But the next book, with the 4 people involved, it's going to be so awesome, Hephaestus and Aphrodite have such a contemptuous relationship, I can't wait to see how their marriage is going to turn out!

This was a really fantastic read, and I can't wait for more! Cruel Seduction sounds so great!
