Week 23 Review: All That's Left in the World

From Goodreads:
When Andrew stumbles upon Jamie's house, he's injured, starved, and has nothing left to lose. A deadly pathogen has killed off most of the world's population, including everyone both boys have ever loved. And if this new world has taught them anything, it's to be scared of what other desperate people will do . . . so why does it seem so easy for them to trust each other?

After danger breaches their shelter, they flee south in search of civilization. But something isn't adding up about Andrew's story, and it could cost them everything. And Jamie has a secret, too. He's starting to feel something more than friendship for Andrew, adding another layer of fear and confusion to an already tumultuous journey.

The road ahead of them is long, and to survive, they'll have to shed their secrets, face the consequences of their actions, and find the courage to fight for the future they desire, together. Only one thing feels certain: all that's left in their world is the undeniable pull they have toward each other.

My Review:
I had such a great time reading this book! This is a novel about a pandemic, which might not be for everyone, but it's also a story of hope, of survival, and I'm glad that I picked it up, I really enjoyed Andrew and Jamie's story!

Jamie has been alone for a while, since his mom died, but he's spend most of the time since the end of the world started in this isolated cabin. Then Andrew comes by, injured, and that kicks off this adventure! I loved following along their journey!

Watching them fall in love with one another was really sweet, they needed something positive, because their journey was pretty treacherous. Sometimes, people are just the worse, and how people were acting now that the world's gone through this disaster...not great.

I needed to know what secret that Andrew was hiding, what he was doing and why he was going it. When we found out, oh man, that was just so sad! But I'm glad that he was doing it, because that meant that he met Jamie!

This was a really great read, and I can't wait to read more by Erik J. Brown!
