Week 30 Reviews: The Infinite Sea, The Last Star

From Goodreads:
How do you rid the Earth of seven billion humans? Rid the humans of their humanity.

Surviving the first four waves was nearly impossible. Now Cassie Sullivan finds herself in a new world, a world in which the fundamental trust that binds us together is gone. As the 5th Wave rolls across the landscape, Cassie, Ben, and Ringer are forced to confront the Others' ultimate goal: the extermination of the human race.

Cassie and her friends haven't seen the depths to which the Others will sink, nor have the Others seen the heights to which humanity will rise, in the ultimate battle between life and death, hope and despair, love and hate.

From Goodreads:
The highly-anticipated finale to the 5th Wave series.

The enemy is Other. The enemy is us. They're down here, they're up there, they're nowhere. They want the Earth, they want us to have it. They came to wipe us out, they came to save us.
But beneath these riddles lies one truth: Cassie has been betrayed. So has Ringer. Zombie. Nugget. And all 7.5 billion people who used to live on our planet. Betrayed first by the Others, and now by ourselves.

In these last days, Earth's remaining survivors will need to decide what's more important: saving themselves... or saving what makes us human.

My Review:
It was so great to read the rest of this series! That first book was really something else, with such an interesting idea of aliens, and who the bad guy was, and what the plan was, and these books continued it, and I just and to keep reading!

Maybe I really should have read the synopsis, but the idea of getting humans to get rid of their humanity-and basically by tricking us, confusing us, so we didn't know who was human and who was alien, was devious and so clever!

Basically I was just along for the ride, because it was hard to know what was really going on, what was true and what was trickery. I felt so badly for all these characters, it seemed like nothing was going their way, and I did not envy them what they were going through!

Oh, that ending, that just hurt! After everything that they went through, I guess I should've expected it, but oh, it was still painful! But it really made the series hit home, that it ended like that, and stayed true to the story, so I'll just have to live with it!

Just absolutely loved reading the rest of this series, they were just such great reads!
