Week 35 Review: Foxglove

From Goodreads:
The captivating sequel to the Gothic-infused Belladonna, in which Signa and Death face a supernatural foe determined to tear them apart.

A duke has been murdered. The lord of Thorn Grove has been framed. And Fate, the elusive brother of Death, has taken up residence in a sumptuous estate nearby. He's hellbent on revenge after Death took the life of the woman he loved many years ago...and now he's determined to have Signa for himself, no matter the cost.

Signa and her cousin Blythe are certain that Fate can save Elijah Hawthorne from prison if they will entertain his presence. But the more time the girls spend with Fate, the more frightening their reality becomes as Signa exhibits dramatic new powers that link her to Fate's past. With mysteries and danger around every corner, the cousins must decide if they can trust one another as they navigate their futures in high society, unravel the murders that haunt their family, and play Fate's unexpected games--all with their destinies hanging in the balance.

Dangerous, suspenseful, and seductive, this sequel to the story of Signa and Death is as utterly romantic as it is perfectly deadly.

My Review:
I was just obsessed with this book! I loved the first one and I had to know how this one was going to go! The ending of the previous book was the beginning of this one, with the death of the duke. That things are complicated by Fate? Yeah, I couldn't get enough!

The fact that we got Signa and Blythe's perspectives in this book was fantastic! She doesn't know about Death and Fate, she just knows that this new guy, who turns out to be a prince, has accused her father of murder. So of course she's going to do her best to solve the case!

In the meantime, Fate wants Life back, but since Death took her away from him, he'll settle for taking Signa away from Death. Which of course she doesn't want to do that, but then she's also exhibiting Life's abilities, but she knows she's not Life. Loved that part of the story!

I loved how all the different avenues of investigation went, that they were a part of the story, that even though they didn't end up being a part of the mystery, they still happened, and affected where the story went! Though it feels like this is the last of Signa and Death's story, and the next will just be Blythe and Fate, just from the way things ended...

Absolutely loved reading this book, and I can't wait to read book 3!
