Week 46 Review: The Perfect Date

From Goodreads:
I'm out on an early morning dog walk when I find the body. It's Harry, the man I was dating. It should be the worst thing that has ever happened to me.... But it has happened to me before.

Six months ago I found the body of Ash, another man I'd been seeing. The police arrested me, and the trauma nearly destroyed me. I moved back home and changed my life.

Now, it's a bright sunny morning, the air is fresh, and I'm finally feeling like I can move on. I can’' wait for my second date with Harry....

Then my rescue dog starts barking.

I follow the sound to see what he's found, and then I realize what it is. Who it is. I back away, trembling.

My heart pounding, I call the police and wait for them to come.

But I don't tell them I recognise the dead man. If I did, I know I'd be their number one suspect.

How could this have happened to me again?

Who is doing this? Will I be next? And worst of all: Is it my fault?

Because there are things nobody knows about me....

A psychological thriller that will keep you gripped and gasping. Perfect for fans of Lisa Jewell, Paula Hawkins, and Gillian Flynn.

My Review:
I had such a great time reading this book! The whole set up with these two guys (who were married) went on these dates with her, and then dying, yeah, I wanted to see what happened next! There were so many different suspects and directions the mystery could go in and I couldn't wait to see which way this book would go!

There was such a great cast of characters, from Caz, who doesn't make the best decisions, Marcy, who was her best friend before she stole her boyfriend but they've recently reconnected over Caz's dog-walking business . Mark, said ex-boyfriend, and now ex-husband of Marcy, who's hanging around. And Marcy's neighbours, who weren't too pleased with Marcy, for various reasons.

My main thought going into this was, Caz is getting stalked, and that's why both these murders have happened to the guys she's gone out with. Caz just was thinking it was a coincidence, because the murder was done differently. But I had my doubts about that.

The beginning and middle were a bit slow, but they were setting up the characters and the situations that they were in. I was suspicious about Marcy, either as a perpetrator or as a victim, and I just wanted to find out what was going on, and that ending gave it to me!

This was a really entertaining read and I'd love to read more by Julia Crouch!
