Week 25 Review: The Only Light Left Burning

From Goodreads:
THEY FOUND EACH OTHER. NOW THEY MUST RESCUE WHAT THEY LEFT BEHIND. The highly-anticipated sequel to the queer genre-bending dystopian romance All That's Left in the World.

Against the backdrop of a ravaged world, Andrew and Jamie have settled in a new community, more in love than ever. Finally they've reached safety and have each taken on roles and responsibilities in this new life. But it's soon clear they want different things:

Jamie is ready to move on and take to the road, just the two of them.

Andrew wants to remain in the safety of numbers.

With a storm brewing up the coast they have no choice to head back into the wilderness where old enemies roam and they don't know who to trust. Can they find their way back to safety and each other?

My Review:
I had such a great time reading this book! I really enjoyed the first one, and it was fine as a standalone, but I'm glad that it was made into a series, I really enjoy these two, and I was down to read more about them! I loved their continuing story, and I had to read it!

They had found a good place at the end of the previous book, but Jamie doesn't want to stay, but Andrew did, which was a source of conflict for them. That they do end up back on the road, I had to know where the story was going to go from there!

We really had reasons to care for this pair, and I'm glad that we got more time with them, though I bet they wish they didn't have to go through this, because it was hard. But conflict keeps a story going and keeps it entertaining, so we got conflict.

My question, was where this was going. They had people after them, and they were having trouble finding a safe place. So I wondered how it was all going to wrap up, and I really enjoyed finding out! I'm glad for what the characters ended up with, after all that they'd gone through, I'm glad that they got that.

Loved reading this book, and I can't wait to read more by Erik J. Brown!
