Week 44 Reviews: King of Blood, King of None, Queen of All

From Goodreads:
The kings and queens of Under have returned…

My magic has woken the most dangerous beings in Under's history. As they take back their thrones, the rivalries between them could drag us all into war.

Aon tried to prepare me for this moment, by unleashing the powers inside me and teaching me to fight.

But his methods were more vicious than I could ever imagine. The passion between us still burns bright. But I can never forgive the way he sacrificed my friend without hesitation or remorse.

Now, as a deadly struggle begins, my relationship with Aon is utterly broken. I stand alone… and unprotected.

But I am no longer a helpless mortal, facing down enemies with unimaginable power. I am one of them—the Queen of Dreams.

To save my life and heal this world, I must make deadly new allies. But will my bond with Aon—and the love I can no longer deny—turn all of Under against me?

King of Blood is the fourth volume in a steamy and addictive six-book series of villainous kings and dark romance that's perfect for fans of Raven Kennedy, Nikki St. Crowe and Penelope Barsetti.

Aon is gone. In his place, a terrifying new king reigns.

The sun rises in Under, for the first time in five thousand years, and a wave of magic tears apart the world I knew.

Aon's love for me is reckless and wild. When his rivals attacked me, his fury released the Ancients—the mysterious creators of Under.

Now, Aon is transformed by their power, as the Ancients take control of his mind. In his place is a monster I do not recognize.

The King of All.

Hard as iron and cold as stone, the King of All was created for one purpose—to rule. He may possess Aon's body, but he is nothing like the dark and passionate man I love.

The only way to bring him back to me is by defeating this new tyrant. Hiding in the ruins of Under's cities and palaces, I join with old friends and former enemies as we plan an all-or-nothing attack.

Can I overcome my feelings and destroy Aon's double? And can the King of All be defeated without tearing Aon apart?

King of None is book five in a steamy and addictive six-book series of villainous kings and dark romance that's perfect for fans of Raven Kennedy, Nikki St. Crowe and Penelope Barsetti. This fully revised new edition is darker and spicier than ever.

From Goodreads:
The King of All claims me as his own.

Aon was transformed by ancient magic. Now he holds Under in a crushing iron grip.

Only I walk free. Because the King of All is different from Aon in almost every way, but they share one thing…

A burning desire for me.

I begin a deadly double game, bowing to the king… And preparing to destroy him.

But then he offers me a chance to shape this world together, if I will only agree to become his bride.

Can I resist this strange version of Aon? His magic is intoxicating. His face and his body belong to the man I love.

I know I must fight this temptation. But when the moment for action comes, and the fate of Under is in my hands, will I be able to strike?

Queen of All is the epic finale of a steamy and addictive six-book series of villainous kings and dark romance that's perfect for fans of Raven Kennedy, Nikki St. Crowe and Penelope Barsetti. This fully revised new edition is darker and spicier than ever.

My Review:
Oh, I loved reading these books! I've really enjoyed getting to know these characters and this world! It's dark, twisted, depraved, and oh, so complicated with morals, and figuring out the best path forward-especially when up against such a powerful, almost all-knowing threat like the Ancients?

Lydia has been through a lot since she's been brought to Under, a lot she's had to adjust to, and almost all of it bad. That another attempt is made on her life, and that it falls into place with the prophecy? Yeah, I was thinking that Aon went the wrong way with his interpretation, but yeah, that was wildly off!

I wasn't sure how they were going to resolve this fight with the Ancients, there's such a big threat. And there's Aon, craz and broken, without the bits of the Ancients to piece him together. On the other is the King of All, sane but maybe that's not a good thing. It was just a complex situation, and I didn't envy Lydia for having to navigate it.

One thing that I'm wondering, is if the other series set in this world, the Fall of Under, if it's going to be revised as well? I don't know if it's set before or after this series, but it was published after this one, so maybe the story is where Kathryn Ann Kingsley wants it to be. I don't know, but I can find that information out!

Loved reading these books, and I can't wait to read more by Kathryn Ann Kingsley!
