Week 15 Review: Alchemy and a Cup of Tea

From Goodreads:
USA Today, Sunday Times, and Indie bestselling author Rebecca Thorne brings the Tomes & Tea series to a delightful, cozy close for our beloved lesbian book- and tea- sellers.

Reyna and Kianthe have no trouble ruling the Queendom, battling evil alchemists, and rescuing adorable baby dragons, but can they save their town from the ravening influx of.... tourists?!?

On the night of her kidnapping, all Reyna wanted was a relaxing cup of tea. She didn't expect to be dropped in a hidden cell, but what the hells. She's flexible.

When Kianthe "rescues" her wife, she expects they'll be back at New Leaf having tea by noon. But there's a problem: an alchemy circle marred Reyna's cell. What does a radical group of alchemists want with the Queendom's newest sovereign… and why did they think they could get away with this?

To make matters worse, Kianthe and Reyna's hometown is having its own problems. Word of New Leaf Tomes and Tea―and its celebrity owners―has finally spread, and tourists are flooding into Tawney. As their friends struggle with the sudden influx, Kianthe and Reyna have to face a bigger conundrum than rogue alchemists: the fact that closing their bookshop might be the only way to save their town.

Things can't just be simple, can they?

My Review:
This was such a wonderful end to the series! I've enjoyed every single installment, and I was excited but a bit sad to sad goodbye to these characters and this world. Where we left them after the events of this book, I'm satisfied with that, even if I'm going to miss these characters!

The last book had their wedding, but because of all the events of the previous book, people are swarming their town, which is an issue, since they can only support so many people in the space before problems arise, and the townsfolk recognize that. Topping that off with Reyna getting abducted and there being strange magical workings, they have a lot on their plate.

I really enjoyed getting to know where Kianthe spend some of her formative time, learning more about magic and alchemy. It wasn't easy for her, and she almost walked away, but then the stone chose her to be the Arcandor and her life was changed. Seeing how things were there before the series ended was fantastic!

I'm satisfied with how things ended. That ending was eventful, and the tension had my on the edge of my seat, needing to know what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed how things resolved, with the power structures and such. Plus there was that either last chapter or short story at the end with a new adventure, not that I think we'll see it. But I can picture it!

Loved reading this book and I can't wait to read more by Rebecca Throne!
