Week 33 Review: Origin

From Goodreads:
Pia has grown up in a secret laboratory hidden deep in the Amazon rain forest. She was raised by a team of scientists who have created her to be the start of a new immortal race. But on the night of her seventeenth birthday, Pia discovers a hole in the electric fence that surrounds her sterile home—and sneaks outside the compound for the first time in her life.

Free in the jungle, Pia meets Eio, a boy from a nearby village. Together, they embark on a race against time to discover the truth about Pia's origin—a truth with deadly consequences that will change their lives forever.

Origin is a beautifully told, shocking new way to look at an age-old desire: to live forever, no matter the cost. This is a supremely compelling debut novel that blends the awakening romance of Matched with the mystery and jungle conspiracy of Lost.

My Review:
This was a really fantastic book! So good, well written, entertaining, and unique, and so great! I loved reading about these characters, and I just wanted to know more! Plus, man, this world! So great, and how we were shown the increasingly scary and bad parts of the world, we were also show the beauty, too!

Loved Pia, she's lived this very isolated life, with only a certain group of people around her, knowing about her. And then one day, she gets out. And meets new people-like Eio-who open her up to so many new things!

Another thing I loved, was how Pia grew. I mean, from near on isolation to a small, but tight knit community, is a pretty big thing. And then there's discovering more about the corporation that was running the whole thing around her. That wasn't too fun!

Pia is very strong to deal with all this. So is Eio, who has to deal with the corporation, because they don't like that he's been hanging out with her. Then there's the whole thing with the trees, and why the experiment was there in the first place.

This was a really fantastic book, it was really entertaining and well written, and I can't wait to read what Jessica Khoury writes next!
