Week 22 Review: Dark Challenge

From Goodreads:
WAS SHE MORE THAN HIS MATE?

Julian Savage was golden. Powerful. But tormented. For the brooding hunter walked alone, always alone, far from his Carpathian kind, alien to even his twin. Like his name, his existence was savage. Until he met the woman he was sworn to protect...

When Julian heard Desari sing, rainbows swamped his starving senses. Emotions bombarded his hardened heart. And a dark hunger to possess her flooded his loins, blinding him to the danger stalking him. And even as Desari enflamed him, she dared to defy him with mysterious, unparalleled feminine powers. Was Desari more than his perfect mate? Julian had met his match in this woman, but would she drive him to madness... or save his soul?

My Review:
This was a really fantastic book! Loved their partnership, it was really great, loved reading about their romance, and yeah, loved reading about their trials, struggles, and triumphs! It was just really great, and a great start to the first mini trilogy within the seires!

So you have to feel bad for Julian, when he was young, he accidently linked himself to a vampire, who's used that connection against him ever since. And Julian hates that, and hates himself for the whole thing happening. And then Desari happened.

I really loved Desari, she's the first real woman of power in this series, because she's Carpathian, she was born that way, and so she has powers that the other Carpathian ladies (ones that have been made into Carpathians, and then Savannah who is only in her 20's!) will develop as they get older, yeah!

They had a pretty bad ass fight, getting rid of the bad guy, and taking down his safeguards, and then beating him, they had a pretty big fight in the end, but they did win, and Julian was free of him, and yeah, that was great!

I really enjoyed reading this book so much, can't wait to reread more (and I only read it one day after my birthday, which makes it extra special!)
