Week 21 Review: A Reckless Promise

From Goodreads:
London's Little Season has never been so scandalous

It's the kind of vow often made on the battlefield. Darby Travers, Viscount Nailbourne, never imagines he'll have to honor it. Yet here she is on his doorstep—his late comrade's young daughter, and Darby's new ward. Worse, she comes with the most overprotective, mistrustful, bothersome chaperone—the child's aunt, Sadie Grace Boxer. Darby is quite sure that behind her lovely facade, the woman is guarding a secret.

Sadie Grace faced many trials working in her brother's surgery, but none prepared her for the world she's thrust into with his passing. Navigating the ton, with its endless ball gowns and parade of parties, is difficult enough, but hiding the truth about her niece while the sophisticated viscount watches her every move proves nearly impossible—particularly when his searing gaze tempts her to bare all. But when her family's past catches up with her, she'll have to trust in Darby…no matter the cost to her heart.

My Review:
Loved reading this book! It was so great, so enjoyable, and I loved Darby and Sadie Grace's story! It was a wonderful addition to this series, and a wonderful end, because it ends on Basil's 60th birthday, which has been something theme throughout this series!

I enjoyed both Darby and Sadie! Darby with his dry wit, and Sadie was just another Original. She and Marley rounded out this cast that we've been getting to know, and were excellent additions, and I loved reading about them all together! And they deal with the curse on the Dukes of Cranbrook!

Sadie had quite a few secrets. And I loved the pace in which they were revealed. Like the truth about her husband. Why they left town in the middle of the night. Why she wanted Marley to be "safe." And how some of them all came together to be a problem for her and Darby, but not things were not as they seemed!

Just a fantastic book, and a fantastic ending to this series! So enjoyable-and the puppies, which kinda rounded out the symmetry of the birds from the first book, but at a much smaller scale! Oh, and what was kinda feared since the first book came to happen! Not saying what!

Loved reading this book, it was so fantastic, and I can't wait to read more by Kasey Michaels!
